Eco mode MKS IV 3600, or new Energy saving 6-12Kw inverter.

Featured Replies

I have a technical question and I'm counting on some advice.

I've already updated my new inverter Voltronic VM IV 3600 to the latest available versions 61.03+22.21 and I was hoping to be able to turn on the Eco mode - unfortunately the inverter draws 18W at rest and after switching on the converter without load it draws 75-80W just to maintain operation.

Can i turn on the Eco mode in it?, or is there a firmware that will slow down the fans? I think it would be possible to reduce a good 10W by muting the fans. Maybe you have some other methods? I don't hide the fact that energy efficiency in offgrid is very important to me.

I realized that I will probably need a larger inverter - can you recommend a decent one in the 6-12Kw range that could have the most refined firmware and will be more energy-saving?

Regards!

What size of panels do you have and what sizes of battery power.

This is essential to give some guidance.

I have 8xJinko JKM480N-60HL4-V and 8S 280Ah EVE V3.

I would probably buy 8S more EVE because price is incredible now -465$ DDP but for 48V inverter would be better 48V ofcourse.

It does seem like you have some spare PV to support more battery power. Currently you use about 13% of total battery power to drive the inverter in the after sunset period. The least cost might be to take a good look what loads you can shed during the evening. Using smart switches you might also switch some loads off and keep a router connected via the inverter so that one can switch on when certain loads are needed but not on 24/7.
