February 4, 20251 yr Hi - I have a Speck BADU Smart Solar pool pump, 72V 750W running off 2 x 550W panels. I want to use the Utility fallback incase of bad weather. I can find an AC 220V to DC 72V 10A converter but need a DC Auto changeover switch. Has anyone done this that can give me direction? Utility 220v converted to 72V. 72V from panels and 72V from utility into Auto Changeover???

When the level is too low you just disconnect it via a relay and can then switch on the AC side of the 230/72V unit. Allow the solar supply as the master and as soon as the solar is strong enough it takes over and uses solar which then disconnects the AC supply. Cost of such a module less than R250. How about some other ideas from our members.
