Good Morning

I have this caddy for backup power and was wondering what additional components I will need to charge it from solar panels

I suspect that I will have to disable the internal charger, and then connect an MPPT (30A) to the batteries, but I might be wrong...

PS: Not that it is related to this, but inverter is Victron 800VA Multiplus 800,12,35, thus I might need to disable the internal charger on it...

You need a Victron MPPT to charge the batts from the panels.

If you don't plug the inverter in a AC socket, it wont charge the batts with Eskom power, the MPPT will do the job if there is sun.

So will the Inverter still be powered by the batteries if it is not plugged into an AC socket?

If that is the case then an MPPT (100/30A) with a panel (300W) will do for.  Or would you recommend that I use the 75/15 MPPT as it is only a 2 battery system?

Is this the correct configuration below?

Yes!

The picture you posted, spot on.

The deciding factor is the size of the battery, the amps it needs to be charged at will determine the MPPT and the panels.

Work on 10%-15% of the batteries ah to determine the charge needed i.e. 100ah needs at least 10amps (average) -15amps (fast) to charge so for that a 75/15 will work.

A 100/30 charges at a max of 30amps so that is a 300ah bank of smaller, if you need it to charge faster.
