Need Help with possible overcharging

Recommended Posts

Good Morning All

I recently installed a backup system on my house, it consists of the following 5000Watt SSL Pure Sinewave  Inverter, 4 x 200AH Shoto 6-FMX-200 Batteries, 3x Battery Balancers, and a BMV 702.

After installing the BMV over the weekend and monitoring the charge values I noticed once the batteries are 'Fully charged' as per BMV the chargers voltage is still 55.02V and there is still a small current of around 0.22Amps indicated on the BMV after about 10hr of charging.

My concern is that if i calculate the Float Voltage of the batteries ( as per manufacturer 2.23V/Cell) or 13.38Vper battery I have a Battery bank Floating voltage of 53.52V as my batteries are series connected, will this over time overcharge the batteries?

I have no access to the inverter's charger settings as it is a very basic inverter.

I am rather new to this and any advise will be highly appreciated

Hello.

I have also 200AH batteries and my float voltage is 55.2V on my batteries. I don't think they will overcharge as it just keeps the voltage at 55.2V and the amps low.

I'm also in the process to get a extra 2 Battery Balancer from Victron I have 1 now. My Sister have the Battery Balancers on their system and their batteries is running smooth. no under or over charged on the batteries and plus BMV.

Perfect, thanks that makes me feel better as at the moment i am switching the invert off when is see the charge current drops below 0.2Amps.

Since i only use the it for backup i do not have any panels attached to the system.

I have attached some pix of my system.

to what batteries are they connected to? I don't see it connect on your batteries!

I have order my Battery Balancer today.

Unfortunately i forgot to take a photo after i connected them, however i have attached the wiring diagram for you.

I can take a photo when i get home later

Awesome and good work how you have put the balancers..

So today load shedding is happening when I get home from work, then I can see what the batteries are doing.

Good day, i have recently purchased the same inverter. Any feedback on it?

Thanks
