Parralleling 10kva System

Featured Replies

I am upgrading my 5kva system that had Axpert 5kva, 12 x Canadian 350w and 2 Huawei 100AH Batteries. I added another similar invertor but i then got 12 Sunpower Panels 350w and another huawei battery 100ah.ย

I need to know if i can connect the two sets of panels each to its own invertor. My installer is saying he can somehow connect all 24 panels to one invertor for charging batteries wc worries me. He has not told me how he plans on achieving this but m just really worried

I humbly doubt that 24 panels can fit onto a Single Axpert inverter 5kW. What will happen is that the Solar Charge Controller will blow. Now if you told me you were upgrading to the Axpert 7.2kW or 8kW MAX I would definitely believe so. The 5kW has capabilities of up to 4000W.ย

24 X 350w panels in series works out to 8400W. Not to mention the Voltage will be out of limits for even the largest 450v solar charge controller. Even if he parallels some connections he will exceed the Amperage limit.ย

I don't know the installer in question but if he gets this right I'd be definitely interested to see how he achieves it.

Good luck ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ

Thabk you. I did know the limitations of the invertor hence the redflag. My little electrical class refused to accept the proposal. He ended up doing 12 panels on each and i will see how they are when i get home and updateย
