  1. Thanks for your reply Coulomb. I was unable to communicate with the inverter via the RS232 cable. Ended up sending the inverter back to the supplier. Hopefully they don't take too much time resolving the issue.
  2. Hello all, I woke up this morning with no power and when checking my RCT VMIII inverter it had warning code 32 on the screen. I know that this is a communication issue between the inverter and panel so checked all the cables and tried the RJ45 for remote cable as well but error 32 remains. Some videos and posts on the internet suggest a firmware rewrite and I have everything in place except for the firmware. Obviously RCT does not have the firmware available on their site and I am scared of loading the incorrect firmware. Could anyone perhaps point me in the right direction?
  3. I am unable to find a spec sheet of the batteries online however, they are definitely deep cycle batteries and are used in many solar applications. Apologies, I have a 3kw inverter installed with model number Rct Axpert Vm3 3Kva. If this is normal, should the same thing happen when electricity is not supplied by the inverter? Thanks for your reply.
  4. Hello all, I'm seeking some advice regarding my inverter wiring that was done by a not so clued up electrician. After doing some research about my specific inverter and requirements I have I had to give advice to the electrician on how to wire to the DB. I've got my essentials and non essentials split on the DB and the inverter connected to the essentials to provide backup power during the load shedding. My backup system consists of the RCT VM3 and 4 102AH Leisure batteries. Everything seems to be working 100% except that during load shedding my lights glow slightly when they are switched off. Could this be that the earth leakages are installed incorrectly, the neutral and earth bonding is incorrect or is this normal? Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  6. Hi There, I am looking at the exact same Inverter and 2 X 200AH batteries to run 1200 watts for a few hours. Will possibly add a few panels at a later stage. According to the spec sheet, this inverter has a maximum AC charge of 60 Amps, not 15. Following the comments to correct me if I'm miscalculating.
