Panel mounting hardware
That's spacing the hooks every 1.5m or every second rafter. Don't get me wrong the quality is very good I have one of there roof hooks on my desk as we speak but jeez that's 1/3rd the cost of my panels.

Panel mounting hardware
Lizzards quote for 18 panels in 2 strings of 8 mounted horizontally due to space is 21k cost...a bit steep hence me asking what everyone is using as lizzard was my first port of call

Panel mounting hardware
There seems as many suppliers of mounting hardware such as rails. roof hooks, panel clips as there are installers. Which brands are everyone using and are stainless roof hooks worth the extra cost if on the coast, not on the coast but maybe 7km as the crow flys or is galvanised ok with alu rails and stainless nuts and bolts. Thanks

I may have a small installation of a SS 8kva and 16 x 545w JA panels, one array of 8 above the inverter in the garage and the other on the house. If this is something you might be open to then let me know.

Which Solar Panels combo is best for my Sunsynk 8kw Inverter
Stove and oven is gas already. Any excess I will use to run my pool pump and AC if needed as I don't want to waste any power.

Good morning Like you I am installing an 8kva SS and 16 545w JA panels, no battery for now. My plan is 2 x 8 panels per Mppt both on the same plane and orientation and if needed later I can string them together on one Mppt and then add another array on the other at a different orientation. This gives me time to monitor consumption and work out if I need more power in the morning or afternoon with will dictate the second array of panels orientation. We only use 21kwh per day at home and we taking the geyser offline and converting to gas.

Roof hooks for a tiled roof in Durban
Good morning. I have been quoted on a system using renusol rails but was advised to rather get rook hooks made up. Could anyone comment on the best roof hooks for a standard roof construction using concrete double Roman tiles. Thanks

Starting out
Good afternoon all I am embarking on a journey to get partially off grid and so have been doing alot of reading. My first question is where if at all can/should one save money if you are unable to do the full install in one hit? Currently I am looking at a sunsynk 16kw inverter for ease of install and to future proof any additional load I might want to add to the system. Now I could get away with an 8kw inverter which would give me an extra R20k to spend on either another battery or more panels but is this the better option as it would get me further off grid sooner and the only IF required I have a bigger outlay to get another 8kw inverter at some point down the line if at all or do I get the 16 and either get one less battery or fewer panels to then almost certainly have to add them later down the line. I guess in order of preference where should one not skrimp or what is the order of preference when it comes to the allocation of funds? Thanks I am sure there will be many more questions to come.
