    What brand of panels do you have installed?
    Typically you can expect about 70-80% of you installed capacity as an actual maximum. It varies based on the seasons, weather and panel brands.
    I have also have a total installed capacity of around 5.5kw and my system peaks at 4.1kw during the day. In the summer time it was around 4.6 kw if I remember correctly. 
    In short, the output sounds about right and it should improve slightly as we move into summer.
