  1. Thank you gents, your info is much appreciated. I am trying my best to encouraging client to upgrade router but he is stubborn and doesn't want to spend. He is happy to keep his old router and not have remote monitoring. Sometimes you just let things slide. I will attempt the above when he calls me out again for one or other issue.
  2. Hi Yellow Tape Measure, I am not too familiar with setting u or changing these settings. Could you possibly explain how to change these settings as the router user access doesn't allow for much access other than changing password and wifi id etc. Also I have read somewhere that these D-Links issued by telkom has limited access and settings can only be access by Telkom Technicians via a support user account on the router.
  3. I doubt my issue is a logger fault as I can still connect to my logger directly. The logger communicates when connected to a cellphone hotspot. Similarly the portal web page is blocked via wifi router, however I can get access via cellphone hotspot. I suspect my problem to be the router firewall. The router is one of these old Telkom issued d-link units running an ADSL line and requires a Telkom installed support password to get to the settings. The standard user account and password has limited access.
  4. Hi Yellow Tape Measure, Thanks for this I will check it out and provide feedback.
  5. Hi TimCam, This was my initial suspicion. I will log into router and check
  6. Hi zathras, I manage to get pass this stage. I can link the logger to a mobile lte router but not to site router. It seems like others have mentioned that the firewall is blocking connections to the sunsynk servers that the logger and portal connects to.
  7. Hi mzezman, its 2.4Ghz
  8. Hi, I have recently installed a Sunsynk 5kw inverter with data logger. When connecting the data logger to the site wifi router, it gives me a failed message. However laptop and phones connect perfectly to the site router. When setting up a hotspot on my phone, the Data Logger connects easily and I have full remote access. The problem lies with the data logger not wanting to connect to the specific site router. Are there specific settings or security protocols on the router that would prohibit the data logger from connecting? The internet connection is an ADSL connection, What I have also noticed is that when I try to access the web based Sunsynk portal via laptop connected to the same site router, it also fails to open and connect to portal. When connecting laptop to phone hotspot, then portal is accessible. The only thing I can think of is maybe the router is dated and data logger is declining connection due to outdated security protocol on router. The router is just under 2 meters away from the inverter. The router model is a D-Link DSL-2740U Thanks
