Had similar problem. my SMG uses Modbus protocol and only Smartess worked via wifi, no other app worked, try Solar Assistant as they are upgrading their software to support that protocol. I´m reading my Easun SMG now. They also have nice support.

No cd. As far as I know, only the app SmartEss or the website Dessmonitor.com can comunicate using wifi dongle. The serial port uses ModBus protocol, not standard rs232, I belive usb is not standard too. If any one has good news regarding new software support please share.

Hello, I know the protocol of this inverter is ModBus and have not find any software able to comunicate with it except the SmartEss. Has any one have news regarding compatibility software with this inverter? It has some nice features but I guess it needs to be firmware updated and needs to be more software compatible. It was Confirmed by software developer that ONLY SmartEss can be used, SmartClient do NOT work.

First you need to configure wifi dongle to your home network typing SSIS and access pw, then create a new account on Smartess with the dongle SN (you can use QR code), after that login and your device should be visible. It looks easy but it´s not, I also tryed a few time before succeed, more, I have been trying to register in SmartClient app with no success up to this date. Edit: Very diferent from Fivestar I guess...

Maybe it is a standard configuration... I confess I do not know how it works but will try to find those values on web.
