  1. Hi Coulomb, thank you for the reply, yes, all the other settings that I change to experiment with is saved, so I'm ok with changing settings. I'll check to find the latest version 71.97 on the forum and try the update. Thanks
  2. Thanks Beat, I've tried disconnecting the BMS from the inverter. I've then had to setup setting 05 as USE, otherwise I get error 61, which prohibits charging and discharding altogether. Made no difference to the setting in 02.
  3. Hi all, I've been browsing the forum for a while now and must compliment the community on an excellent database of knowledge and experience. Let me start by introducing myself first: I'm an electronic engineer working in the aviation (flight testing) field for the last 20 years. I live in Centurion and I have a fair bit of knowledge and experience with electrical systems and communication protocols etc. I started out in the inverter / battery backup system about 3.5 years ago. I've got an Axpert King 5kW (145V max VOC) model installed together with 2 x US3000 pylontechs. This system has served me incredibly well for the last 3.5 years during loadshedding as I only used it as a UPS system during loadshedding. I've recently added 6 x 545W solar panels in 2S3P configuration to the system, to start making use of the sun as an additional / backup power source. Unfortunately my house's roof is not big enough to get me off the grid eventually, so this will be as far as I can go regarding backup power. My question is the following: No matter what I change in my settings on the inverter, I can not get the max charging current set any higher than 10A. The problem is that there is much more power available from the panels than what I can currently get into the charger for the batteries. If the house is drawing 200W, the PV is supplying around 800W, with the battery charging current sitting around 10A or 11A. If I turn on a load like the toaster, the PV jumps up to 1.5kW with no problem. When the load goes off, I'm back to 800W from PV. If only I can get the charging current up to 30A and use all of the PV available, will I be able to fully charge the batteries during the day. At this stage I can only get about 40-50% of the battery capacity back into the batteries during the day. If I've depleted the batteries overnight down to 30 or 40%, I can not get them fully charged the next day in full sun due to the limiting charge current. I do believe that it is the inverter that is blocking this setting, because even if I set setting 05 to USE, and disconnect the RS485 communication cable from the batteries, it still only allows 10A max charging current. I can change the setting under 02 to any value, exit the settings menu, when I go back in, its back to 10A. My inverter settings are as follows: 01 -> SUB 02 -> 10A (stuck) 05 -> PYL 06 -> Enabled 07 -> Disabled 09 -> 50Hz 10 -> Auto 11 -> 40A 12 -> 46.0V 13 -> 54.0V 16 -> SBL & UDC 23 -> Bypass Enabled 26 -> 53.2V 27 -> 53.2V 28 -> Single 29 -> 46V 32 -> Auto I know that the settings for 02,26,27 and 29 is not settable with setting 05 set to PYL. This should be set between the inverter and the batteries. Even when I set the battery type to USE, I still can not set 02 more than 10A. It keeps reverting back to 10A. Some other things that I've tried is the following: I've tried swapping the master and slave batteries, no difference. When I turn on utility power to help charge the batteries at night, still only 10A, although setting 11 is set to 40A (I believe this is correct as setting 2 is the total AC + PV current limit). My current firmware version is as I bought the inverter back in 2018, 71.70. The batteries are both US3000, not B or C versions. The inverter is the axpert King version 1, with the 4000W MPPT and 145 VOC max. I've read a lot of posts on this forum as well as on the AEVA forum, but can not figure this out yet. I'm weary to try and upgrade the firmware as I gather there are still some other bugs in the newer firmware as well. Any help or advise would be appreciated.
