  1. well since our geyser and oven are still connected directly to Eskom i doubt we'll turn the dial back enough
  2. Hi All, Jumping onto this topic, if I have an ancient rotary meter, can I set the trickle to zero? Is there any disadvantage to do that? Thanks!
  3. Hi Everyone, So we, like most of those lucky enough to be able to afford it, have invested in a solar system. We have installed: Sunsynk 5kw Inverter 1 x 5.12kwh Lithium battery (I can't remember the brand) 6 x 445w panels There has been a bit of a learning process with the coil being installed incorrectly initially but we are all up and running now. I know zip about these sorts of things so this forum has been very helpful. Everything with the exception of the geyser and the oven runs through the inverter. The stove top is gas. We have gradually switched all lights to LEDs. We have 1 fridge, 1 freezer, microwave, toaster, a pool pump and the usual TV/laptop etc. I don't think we are especially heavy users. I'm looking for advice on how best to configure our system so that we use as little Eskom as possible. I imagine using primarily solar during the day + charging the battery, then running off the battery for as long as possible overnight before using Eskom until the PV takes over. I realise that 6 panels isn't quite enough but that's as far as the budget stretched for now!
