  1. That great, I have 2x inverters . 3fans per fan.
  2. @PowerUser I used historical data. Measured power output before the fans installed vs power output after the fans. My concern was overheating and deterioration due to high temperatures. this temp reading is before the fans. Max yield from the sun was about 5kW. . inverters After the fans were installed. I am always at 90% efficiency. over 7kW yield. and temperature is within the 45-60deg as per reading taken today.
  3. @madness_za, update on this. I put 6x computer fans to help cool the inverter. The results are amazing. I get 20% more efficiency and the inverter is always within the 45-60Deg range
  4. please share what you have in mind. I am seeing alot of people go that route. I logged a support query with sunsynk and they advised both should be 40-60deg. ill start with PC fans and see how that goes.
  5. I am getting confused regarding what operating temperatures my Inverters should be at. I am running sun5kva hybrid inverter which is documented to operate 40~60 ºC, >45 ºC Derating. this is from the Datasheet. Now when you look at the inverter readings there is two temp readings. DC and AC. which one should be kept at 40-60Deg? I see the AC temp is regulated and inverter internal fans kick in when this goes over 60deg. However the DC temp goes over 75deg. can someone advice which is important and should be within 40-60Deg? attached picture of the temp readings.
  6. If you have a house with a 3phase supply. what is better: 3x single phase inverters? or 1x three phase inverter? What are the pro and cons for each setup? im leaning towards 3x single phase inverters. Only because if one fails I’ll have two phases still working.

  8. you're correct, I read and understood it wrong. based on what the others say about. Then for my use case: Ensure that eskom powers the house between 02h00 and 05h00 am. there is now way that this can be achieved on Growat without manually changing the charge priority to SUB. Parameter 50 as now i understand it. will turn of power to anything that is outside of that time set.
  9. Growatt Setting 50 does not work. I have setting 50 on 0103 first two digits: Start hour: 01h00 the last two: End hour 03h59 as soon as i hit enter. lost entire power to the house. Put it back to default 0000. can you share your settings @buyeye?
  10. so im reading the manual. it states the following four 0000. digits for setting 50. AC inverter charge: I have setting 50 on 0103 first two digits: Start hour: 01h00 the last two: End hour 03h59 testing will be if this does not break

  12. Wanted: Pylontech 3x UP5000 to buy or option to Trade for Sunsync 5kw Inverters. They must be new. if you're in gauteng - pretoria i can collect them tomorrow
  13. Update on my side: So insurance replaced the Geyser for a like for like. I am exploring parameter 50 on the Growat without them being temperamental. If this work then life is all good. @Sc00bs, unfortunately i dont have any north facing roof area for a geyser. i'll have to manipulate the growat to be functional. If not then i can justify an upgrade to deye and get the time of use settings
  14. Fair enough, I shall do a like for like replacement on the geyser and look at other ways I save the battery utilisation in the morning. i need to investigate a DIY automation on growat to switch from SBU to SUB priority without manually attending to the inverter.
  15. Thanks @Sc00bs and @Bobster., so I have insulated the pipes. i am not having heat loss overnight. The wife and kids deplete the hot water reserve from night bath. Then morning I have to use batteries then when they deplete i move to eskom to heat up the water. Say about 2am-5am for morning baths. My option now to increase the water storage = geyser to 300l.
  16. ill see what the plumber can do tomorrow when they replace the geyser. QQ: the plumber that did my geyser conversion mentioned he did a Thermosiphon. wont that solve the mixing problem. unless its a fancy term that doesnt work. but he that caters for cold water mixing.
  17. okay, that changes the picture a bit. why cant i just use one 300l geyser and use single 3kw element. i pdont want to pull 6kw. and always heat geyser between 12-2pm when all the morning work is out and battery are fully charged i still have other power needs during the day. i push the system to 80% usage. pool pump, geyser, AC, i do most oven cooking during the day, waching and iron.
  18. that sound like a good option, i have 2x 5kW Growatts SPF. so i can play with the element config. im not well versed on plumbing. so with two geysers in series, do you need an element for each geyser?

  20. Hi, I am looking at ways to get around geyser not using my batteries in the morning to heat up. I have a 200l geyser with a 2kW PTC element. I use my solar system to heat the geyser during the day to 70deg. this gives enough water for evening bath and dish washer. The problem is in the morning. the geyser on at 2am-5am. this will deplete my battery bank and use eskom. I need one more battery to go fully offgrid. just that i want to use this window of they geyser breaking wisely. today my geyser is leaking and i must replace it tomorrow morning with insurance. Option: get a 300l geyser. use a bigger storage capacity and store hot water during the day. Question: is a 2kW element sufficient? What is the max geyser capacity i can push this to. Alternatively what other methods can you suggest. BTW. i dont want to add more batteries, and im not going to add a gas geyser. ill be moving next year and dont plan on investing into the current house.
