  1. This was my initial concern but our house has crazy high pressure maybe because we are at the bottom of a downhill not sure.
  2. So first thing I did was check the filters. Not much debris. Second thing I removed the shower head and it starting working. Decided to remove the filter in the shower head and it still works after putting it back on. Also made some adjustments to the dials. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

  4. Hi. I have a totai 12L gas Geyser. For a while only the hot water tap in the kitchen was igniting the geyser. The shower and tap in the bathroom was not. Now the kitchen tap is also not igniting the geyser when turned on. The only way we were able to get it on was to turn the water in the shower on first then go outside and turn the water knob to from Min to max then once the geyser ignites turn the water switch towards minimum again to get the temperature right. Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem here?
  5. It must be connected to grid power to operate in order to display your prepaid accounts units. So plugging it into your neighbors house and recharging the units with the voucher code seems to be the only solution besides always keeping it topped up.
  6. If you have used a prepaid meter you will know that when the units are depleted the meter turns off. So even if you buy more units theres no way of putting the voucher code in since it is done manually on the meter itself. Not sure what wiring you are referring to. Its a plastic box with a plug on it and must be connected to grid power to operate in order to display your prepaid accounts units. I was wondering if theres perhaps a new smart meter or a wifi solution or something else so that if this happens you don;t have to go to your neighbors house to plug it in just to top up the units.
  7. Is there way to keep the power on the Eskom Prepaid Meter when your units are finished so that you can recharge? I have a solar system but I fear it does not matter. Is there a better solution than going to your neighbors house to recharge?
  8. So before I got Solar, during loadshedding I used to use an extension cord with plug on each side to power the house with a 6500k generator. One side into the gennie and one side into any plug point. Wondering now if during extensive loadshedding when lithium batteries are running low if I can do the same to power the house and hopefully power the batteries. Thinking is the generator will act as the grid. Anyone know if this will work before I go blow my inverter or something?

  10. I'm checking with the installer. But I recall seeing 41v on the sticker. The total voltage per string of 7 is approximately 280v for each MPPT. Was a bit higher yesterday on the one. But if I do a calculation 280 x 7 x 2 = 560 / 14 = 40. So looks correct.
  11. Aah ok thanks. So just to be clear the imput power is a max of 6500w. If the panels do produce their max say at peak power and the house load and battery load is equivalent or more will it pull the all the available solar power in and split it up between house and battery but not exceed 5kw on eiather. Is that how it works?
  12. Ok, thanks for your input. This photo was taken at 930am. Already getting 2.75kw at that time which was mostly charging the battery.
  13. Last year I installed a 5kw Deye Inverter, 2 x 4.8kw Dyeness Batteries, 10 x 455 Canadian Solar Panels. At max load I always got 4.5kw from solar. I tested this several times by overloading the system with Microwave, kettle etc. any excees load would start coming from Eskom. I wanted some extra solar power so I could run pool pump etc. So I researched and enquired accross multiple platforms including Powerforum and the consenses was that the Deye 5kw inverter could handle up to 6.5kw of Solar as long as the voltage was below max. So I got another 4 x 455w panels installed. But when I do the overload test I still only get 4.5kw during peak sun. So these are the issues I am thinking could be the problem: I'm aware that we are going into winter and that could be a factor but its strange that is maxed out at exactly the same watts. Perhaps I need to wait until summer again but i would rather sort out now so I have recourse/warranty while its still valid. The Canadian Solar 455w panels have changed since I installed the first batch, so there are 7 old ones on a string and 4 old + 3 New ones on a string. (see photo). The size of the panel is slightly different. When I did the test I noticed that PV1 is +/- 280v and PV2 is +/- 308v. Seems like the one string is producing more volts. Could this be an issue? On another group someone was saying tilt and orientation could be limiting the power. Someone also said they are suprised that I was getting 100% efficiency from the original 10 panels to begin with. And another said the Deye can only supply up to 5kw power, not 6.5kw as per the spec on the side of the inverter. (see photo). Has anyone got any ideas or useful info for this situation please?
  14. Your point is noted on the TV issue. Thanks for making it clear, it does make sense. The TV, Wifi, lights are the basic essentials, not to mention fridges also need to keep running if possible. Just the other day my dad had to throw out all the meat in the freezer (R2000). I don't see a gel battery being the answer for him in the long run.
  15. Why do you say a generator is not for TV and Lights? We've been using a generator for years with no issues. Yes its a pain at times but it provides reliable energy. Regarding batteries I read that these Gel batteries like the one in this post, is only rated for 200-300 cycles. With the irratic load shedding that will need to be replaced every few months, not once a year. Correct me if I am wrong?
  16. For the same price I'm going to buy my dad a 2kw generator. I can't see him replacing a R2500 battery every few months. Thanks for all your comments though. Helped me make a good financial decision.
  17. My neighbor has just bought this little setup for R4200, which she uses just for her lounge. She runs her tv, lights and wifi which I think is all most people really need during loadshedding provided you have a gas stove/plate for cooking. What are the pros and cons of this setup for this use case? Is there a better setup for the same cost? How long do these batteries last during power outages? What is the lifespan of these batteries? Does this inverter/ups work fine? Will it over charge the battery? Is there a better setup for the same/similar price range? So many questions perhaps you can bring some issues she may have in the near future with this setup... Battery: 6-GSP(G) - 100Ah Gell Battery Inverter/UPS: TelePower 1KVA UPS
  18. Thanks very much. Mine are 455w and since the cap is 6500w I'll probably just add 7 total per MPPT (345v) which could give me around a max of 6.3kw which is an extra 25% more power than I have now.

  23. I recently installed a Deye 5kva Hybrid Inverter, 2 Dyness 4.8kw Batteries and 10 Canadian 455W Solar Panels. The system is great and has been working well. I get up to 4.5kw of power from the panels on a good day. But on a bad day batteries take forever to charge and the load shedding does not help so I am using Eskom power to charge batteries more often. My concern is that we may move into higher load shedding stages in winter and then theres less Eskom option to charge batteries. So thinking of upgrading the system. So here are a few scenarios I'm looking at. Hoping for some good advice on the best way forward. Batteries: Happy Inverter: Either add a second 5kva Deye or replace current 5kva with a 8kva. Solar Panels: Add another 6 to 8 panels.
