Solar / inverter driving a closed loop water system and waterpump
We want to purchase a water tank / water pump that runs off Tshwane water installed as a 'closed loop' system so that if we have water outages, we can use this clean water. Some background to our system: 8kw Sunsynk inverter 2 x 5 kw Sunsynk batteries 12 x 550 solar panels Questions to the forum: Has anybody done this using their solar installation Which water pump should we buy as someone noted that it needs a specific water pump How much power does it use from the solar / battery installation and will it cause an issue with draining the batteries at night? Any other suggestion / comments are appreciated.

Selling solar electricity into the grid - Tshwane
We want to register and sell electricity back into the grid in Tshwane. Some background to our system: 8kw Sunsynk inverter 2 x 5 kw batteries 12 x 550 solar panels Prepaid electricity meter As we use gas geysers and stove - we use very little of our solar energy and because of this i am sure we can sell into the grid. We can also add more panels if the process works well so that the entire system starts paying for itself. Key questions for this forum: Does anyone on this forum know how to go through the application process in Tshwane - from registration to being operational. How to configure the entire system - inverter, etc.. How does one would get feedback from Tshwane to track what is being sold back? Does one need a specific prepaid meter to make this possible?

Prepaid electricity meter fails after installing a Sunsynk Inverter
Thanks to everybody that responded to my thread on the Prepaid meter that could not load electricity as it was installed on the essential circuit side - and not the incoming side from Council / Escom. As per suggestions on this forum - I had the installer come back and moved one of the plugs in the kitchen to the Escom / Council / incoming side and connected the prepaid meter to that - it now works perfectly.

Prepaid electricity meter fails after installing a Sunsynk Inverter
To all Thanks for the comprehensive feedback...so two things: I found that the prepaid meter is behind the inverter- which means it does not 'see' the escom / ciry council line - and therefore does not register the load of the money Had to switch the inverter 'off' - and link directly to council power so that the meter can 'see' the direct line from council Also - very embarrassing - we forgot to pay our municipal bill last month...and then council started deducting it off the prepaid electricity.. Learning experience all round...

Prepaid electricity meter fails after installing a Sunsynk Inverter
We have a problem with our prepaid meter after installation of the Sunsunk inverter and solar panels. It keeps on displaying Fault when we try to load electricity. In Pretoria when we now buy electricity it keeps on saying Arears Amount - it then recovers an 'arrears' amount. We tried R200 and it recovered and arrears amount of R120 and for R50 it recovered an arrears amount of R30. Anybody else have this problem?
