  1. Hi and thanks for the feedback @suds7162, how would I know if I am exporting back to grid? It would definitely make sense on the massive and quick drop of battery. @Eurard Thanks so much foe this. I will give it a try. Makes sense what you posted. I just thought having battery cut-off so low is a bit dangerous for the batteries? I'll provide an update here after testing it.
  2. Hi all, I need some help making sense of this please. I sarted using solar assist and its just opened so much info to me, really great product. Here's what I am seeing happen, but I have no idea why: 1. Sun shines on panels, carries more than enough load and ends up loading batteries to about 85% (I assume it reaches float charge voltage and stopes?). Then solar stops charging batteries which I assume is normal as float Voltage has been reached. Then the weird part: at roughly 16:00 every day battery voltage drops drastically to 30% (see images). Why? Settings: Battery type User Charger source priority Solar and utility simultaneously Shutdown battery voltage 46.0 V To grid battery voltage 48.0 V Back to battery voltage 50.0 V Battery float charge voltage 53.7 V Battery absorption charge voltage 54.0 V Max charge current 60 A Max grid charge current 20 A See images attached.
  3. Ah ok thanks! I have very similar settings. About the Max Charge current.. I've been a bit cautious to change it. What is the effect if having that on say 40A?
  4. Thanks @GMAC I suspect it has something to do with the different type of batteries I have. @Jacques Ester May I ask what you have for some of your inverter settings? Back to grid and ack to discharge/battery? I think the main question I had was with have more KW batteries that inverter can handle? Will 5KW inverter struggle to fully charge 9.6KW of batteries while carrying the load of the house? Thanks!
  5. Morning all, Can someone please explain this to me like I'm Jon Snow and know nothing (yet). I have: -12 x 340W Solar Panels placed in 3 rows of 4 panels each row. - Kodak 5KW OG-Plus 5.48 - 2 x 2.4kw shoto SDA10-4850 Lithium-ion battery - 1 x 4.8KW Im struggling to see more details. Looks like it was bought from https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za/ Question: What is the drawbacks of having a 5kw inverter and more/9.6kw batteries? I have an ongoing issue where batteries will never charge above 70% even when on bypass mode. So I am continually playing around with the settings to increase or decrease "back to grid" or "back to discharge" but not winning. F.

  8. Thanks @p_i your breakdown really helped. I suspect I am not getting enough from PV as batteries are never charged enough at the end of the day. I just took another screenshot, full sun on panels: PV1 input power is 1727 Watt, Battery Discharge current was 0. And Output active power was 252.3 V. I have a 5KW inverter and 12x340W panels, with 2x 2.4kw and 1x 4.8kw battery. What PV1 Input should I expect to get with this setup? Thanks Francois

  10. Hi all, Need some help with this please. I suspect I am not getting the output from my 12x 340W solar panels that I am supposed to get. How can I check/test this? Is it correct in assuming when sun is direct on the panels I should get anything in the range of 12x340w = 4080w output? If this is the case I am NOT getting this as it is rarely over 2.5kw. So, how can i test my panels? Is there an interface somewhere on the inverter where it says "yes I am getting input from 12 panels" or DO I have to get up there and use a meter to test them? They are not dirty, but tbh I've not gone up there and wiped them down in the last 6 months. Thanks!
  11. Hi Coulomb, very interesting. Sounds like what I am dealing with. tbh. I still need to learn with the float parameter means. I wish I could know more on what the battery charging schedule is like, I get the sense that during the day it charges at random (whether PV or Utility) intervals for like 5/10 minutes then stops. And based on load it does move up but almost like it never gets to anything above 70% charged.

  13. Thanks Jacques. So will this impact overall charging of the batteries? Keeping an eye on them it does look like they are equally getting used and charged. I knwo its not perfect but by checking the lights on them they all 3 seem to be the same whether its 1,2 or 3 lights on out of the 4.
