Hello all. I've been told conflicting things about how the Deye 8kW inverter Time of Use settings work and am hoping those of you with more experience will be able to help. As I understand: 1. If Time of Useis disabled, the system attempts to keep the batteries full at times. In this scenario, the system runs off grid power overnight, unless there is loadshedding. If there is loadshedding the batteries will run the load until power is restored, at which time the batteries will recharge from the grid. Am I correct that this would provide maximum loadshedding protection, but at the cost of efficiency (after night time load shedding the batteries will recharge from the grid instead of waiting for PV power in the morning)? 2. If Time of Use is enabled and grid charging is enabled, the grid will kick in to charge the battery if it drops below the Time of Use SOC%. This percentage can be defined separately for each period. Here is where things get interesting. If the battery drops below the Time of Use SOC% during overnight loadshedding, does the battery stop discharging (meaning no power to the load), or does it continue discharging until the battery shutdown threshold? For example, if the Time of Use SOC% for 12:00am-8:00am is set to 60%. From 5:00am the battery is at 60% and being kept there by the grid. At 6:00am load shedding hits. Will the battery stop discharging to maintain that 60% charge? Or will the battery power the load until the battery shutdown threshold is met (or PV power kicks in/grid power is restored)? Thanks!
