  1. Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up going with the Growatt 3kw + 1 Essener battery and 2 X 540w panels. It's been in for just under 2 months and so far seems to doing the job for my requirements. Have never dropped the battery below 60% since it was installed and that's with a couple extended load shedding sessions we had due to power not restoring on time, I do however control the electric blankets during loadshedding and only use them on power level 1 or 2 when LS.
  2. So I managed to get the WiFi dongle and what I notice once the voltage picks up around 80v up the wattage starts dropping. Is this the normal or is this the mppt not operating effeciently due to exceeding the mppt range. Is higher voltage or wattage better
  3. Noted thanks. But what happens between the 80 and 102 range
  4. Noted will do. What does your battery sit on with the adjusted settings when Eskom is available. On a seperate note do you also find the fans run loud for quite a while after loadshedding and battery is charged up
  5. So what happens when the panel voltage is under 102 but above that 80.
  6. My inverter is still on the standard settings. I see that the battery voltage is now getting up to 27.0v. it's now running for about 30 hours or so should it take some time to balance out. what does your batteries sit on when Eskom is available.
  7. If the panels are wired in series and exceed the 30-80v mppt range but not 102 what does that imply. Will it falls back to PWM charging rather then mppt
  8. Hi I have the same setup here (growatt 3kva, 2.56 Essener and 2 X 540w panels) just recently installed. My battery doesn't seem to be going beyond 26.8v even when eskom is available, is that normal ? what should it go up to Thanks
  9. What would happen if the VOC exceeds 102 would it pop the inverter.
  10. Hi Is it safe to connect 2 x 540w Canadian solar panels in series with a growatt 3kva (3000TL 24v). Does the combined voltage in series need to be below 102 in this case or between the 30-80 on the inverter spec sheet. Below are the specs on the panels and inverter. Thanks
  11. Looks to be in the correction section unless someone has moved it for me
  12. Hello What would be a better option for backup to lights, TV, electric blankets, chargers. Average usage during loadshedding I would estimate around 300 to 400 watts if controlled. We do extended outages beyond loadshedding in our area fairly often. Option 1 Growatt 3kva 24v + 2.56 Essener lithium + 2 mono panels 660w each. How long would the batteries take to charge with this setup. Option 2 Luxpower SNA 5kva 5kw lithium battery No panels Both could come in around a similar budget but option 2 doesnt have any panels. Would 2x660w panels put a dent in the Charing of the batter on option 1 and be enough to at least see some saving on electricity Thanks
  13. Thanks didn't realise the impact of that 30A. How is the Nenergy in general their 4.8kw has a constant 50A and max 100A which seems to be about right for a 3kva inverter. Or would it be best to go with the essener and later on add another one if needed. Or if unavailable they to find another similar one with the same specs to add on. Thanks
  14. Thanks. What is the comms connection used for
