  1. Hi All We have a 10KVA Victron inverter with 2 Solar MD batteries with a capacity of 28KWH. I also have a 10kva generator that we use occasionally when there is a sustained power outage. I would like to only use the generator to recharge the batteries whilst the load is carried by the inverter from the batteries. The main reason for this is the generator can only run for 4 hours at a time and then it needs to be switched off. I do not want to spend big money on a new diesel system. if I need to buy a second hybrid inverter in order to only charge the batteries with the generator then I am happy to do so. My installer says that the way the inverter works is that it supplies the load first and then sends surplus power to the batteries Please can you help me understand the best way to achieve this.
  2. Hi All I have over the years migrated from some basic load shedding systems to a full solar installation that is built around a 12KW Sunsynk 3 phase inverter. I have given away my Voltronics (Mecer) system as well as some other small inverters that I had installed and the current system is working like a charm. A good friend wants to move from his current system which is based dual 3KW Voltronics inverters with gel batteries to a single hybrid inverter that is solar ready with some LiPo batteries. his installer has recommended a Mecer 8KW inverter with an AM5 Hubble battery. I was really shocked that the installer has recommended an entry level inverter brand when money is not a factor, but I am not able to provide a good enough technical reason for my friend to ignore the installers advice and put in a top end system like a Sunsynk, Deye or Victron. Please could someone provide me with some information that I can pass on.
