  1. we haven't played around with the unit much its only ever kicked in when we ran out of electricity or load shedding how do you use it during select times of the day or use it until battery hits a set percentage for then the electricity kick in and take over from the battery?
  2. How do you set it that it runs from battery until selected % then switch back to grid source?
  3. Good morning all Silly question but had to ask is there a specific or optimal setting for a Sunsynk inverter and 8kw battery? No solar panels as yet but wanted to configure the unit in best possible way. Is there way of switching between grid and battery during the day? Is there way of overriding the grid and using the battery at ad hoc times? if anyone can point in right direction Much appreciated

  5. Thanks Kevin they gave me quotes but i like the fact that PV store is also local to me and prices little better than power forum who shot up overnight i also save over R1k on the delivery costs guess it all helps somewhere
  6. Have you bought from them? i see they are in CT also
  7. thanks took screenshot of things i wanted when i checked back in the morning to get a quote it had gone up substantially making it more expensive than other places unfortunately called these guys and they sounded great over the phone landline reviews and prices not bad https://www.crystalcom.co.za/ only addition is delivery to CT powerforum added VAT to online price making it come in at +/- R103k plus delivery
  8. Hi all I stay in CT and looking for a reputable company that i can buy my sunsynk battery and inverter from there seems to be multitude of online companies with varying prices but not all of them have feedback or reviews on hello Peter etc just wanting to get some names before splashing out so much money thanks
  9. hi been mulling this now think i have narrowed it down to Sunsynk 8kW, 48Vdc Single Phase Hybrid Inverter Sunksynk Battery LFP Wall Mount 5.32Kwh 51.2V ( to add second battery at later stage?) Jinko Solar Panel Tiger 555W Mono-Facial x 8/10? or are these panels the same? Jinko: 550W Solar Panel Mono Crystalline Half Cell the Canadian Solar are a little more expensive is this probably the best setup excluding installation and all the extra components? i did read something about the AM5 Hubble with the Sunsynk inverter being a better setup?
  10. im in CT so is there something specific I need to use or do as per your comment? And with installers is it best to get the whole set-up from them as opposed to buying parts and getting them to install?
  11. thank you for the in depth response think my property is similar 3 bedroom, 3 TV's, computer, laptops, 2 fridge's, stove is gas but oven isn't, microwave, coffee machine, router i know my budget was low but i was hoping in the meantime to get away with inverter plus 5kw battery but im thinking that i need double that is the Sunsynk setup plus panels the way to go?
  12. thank for the link Are the components on this setup good.... it works out relatively cheaper than some of the things im getting quotes on
  13. yes GF i think that's the one he has that you linked to i see its over R110k without installation its more than i anticipated to pay up front is it a good set up though ie the one in the link? I was looking around and i see FNB are giving me a discount on Sunsynk with ebucks? is the sunsynk option a relatively good one? thinking of the 5kw for now with added battery?

  16. ive looked at few options for inverter plus battery but there are so many options brother in law has this set up and said maybe we should get something similar?
  17. guess initially to power through loadshedding as both kids need lights, power etc for studying guess eventually would like to aim to be off grid have the gas hob ..
