  1. Hi Denns, I was under the impression that when I select Pylon in he settings - All the parameters are set automatically ?? Am I missing something? I did go through the settings and nothing can be changed manually
  2. Hi Guys, Some advice here please, I have a RCT ( Axpert ) 8KW - Max 11 Main Cpu firmware is 00054.01 Secondary firmware is 00022.11 Set for solar charging only When set to SUB ( CURRENT SETTING ) The inverter works fine and draws from utility if pv is not enough. I'm happy with this. As soon as the Batteries ( Pylontech with Bms ) hit 100% charge the inverter drops the PV and draws only from Utility. ** When set to SBU The inverter does Not draw from PV at all. It still draws from Utility - not batteries- Although there is more than enough PV. When the battreries reach 100% charge the inverter drops utility for a few seconds - Draws from the battery for a minute then Changes to draw from utility Only. I have resorted to Dropping the AC breaker at sunrise then switching AC back ON at night. ANY IDEAS ?? I'm in the process of adding the the battery bank this weel - Then hoping to use SBU as battery capacity will be more than enough to last the night. I have tried another inverter ( Mecer 8kw ) Exact same issue.
  3. I have this Mecer Inverter, 1600W . 48 Volt. It uses 4 X 7Ah lead Acid Or Gel Batteries. Has anyone installed 4 x Lithium 8Ah in this ? Or does anyone know if these batteries can work in series with issues.

Hi Guys I have these connectors - round - for my PV cables that were supplied with my Mecer Inverter. Outer Diameter is almost 5mm and inner is 3mm Any idea what crimper is used for a Decent crimp ??
  5. Hi Coulomb, You are absolutely spot on. I don't know what I was thinking. It is the OCI- MX-7.2K. It has 3 80mm Fans. I have come right with the plug wiring issue but still uncertain if the inverter will " Accept " these Low rpm fans without complaining. I suppose one way will be to install them and find out R 1500 Later.
  6. Hi Guys, I have seen a similar thread recently but can't find it now. I have a Axpert 7.2 Inverter and the 3 fans are running constantly at 30% and are Very Noisy. I am considering replacing these 3 fans with Noctua NF-R8 PWM fans. The Noctua fans have a Max RPM of 1600 Has anyone done this mod successfully without getting any error codes. I see the fan plug layout on the Noctua is also different and needs to be rewired. I am willing to buy a plug kit for this but not sure which plug type is used on the Axpert. I am looking at the JST-XH but not sure. Some advise here will be appreciated Before I spend a fortune on these Noctua Fan replacements
  7. Hi Guys, Anyone used these panels before ?. Well priced and good warranty ( 😆) but trying to be penny wise here. Don't want to get Bitten.
  8. The Geyserwise Thermostat installation is a very simple . Replaces the existing unit, No water channel there. Buggest job ( not really is finding a suitable spot for the controller. I did this for us not so long ago and works like a charm. I did a few extras on mine and willing to share if you like. ********* The WIFI breaker is great. However do check the element again. Depending on area and geyser size .... My 150L Kwikot came with a 2 kw element. I installed a separate contactor near the geyser to save the controller. Also the controller power is on inverter so is always on and will save the small backup battery. But I see you are on the right track.
  9. Thank you Guys.... That's what I have been telling him. The Frightening part is that he is willing to issue a COC for this work. But if he does what i ask then he will get 104.8 VOC / 40.5 Amps. This should be safe Right ?? 3 Strings ( of 2 in series ) into a combiner box 3 in 1 out. maybe after this lesson he will not charge another call out and issue the COC ( for whatever it's worth ). Sadly I'm stuck with this company for this. ** Thanks guys for all the helpful info. I will insist on the 3 strings of 2 in series. And the 3 string combiner box is the best / safest option ??

  11. Unfortunately he can't understand you and neither can I. Adjust VOC Upwards to Minus 5 Deg ???. Sorry for being Dumb. He did see the inverter sticker etc . Now the installation is on hold ..... will cost me another call out but I can live with that to do the right thing here

  13. Thank you so much for the response. Now I have a situation on my hands. With the components mentioned what would you advise. Unfortunately the inverter and batteries have already been installed and working.
  14. Hi Guys, Some advice from you Solar Gurus Please. Easy one. INVERTER 5KW OC ( AXPERT KING FAMILY ) Solar Charge - 80 Amps Min Input solar - 40 Vdc Max input solar - 145 Vdc PANELS CS-585w-N X 6 Operating voltage - 43.3 vdc open circuit voltage - 52.4 vdc operating current - 13.52 Amps Short Circuit current - 14 Amps SO HERE IS THE QUESTION My installer wants to use 2 strings of 3 in series then parallel into a 1 in 1 out combiner box . With OSV the input voltage is 157.2 vdc And 27 Amps. ( Operating voltage will be 129.9 vdc ) He says this is perfectly fine and the higher ocv is nothing. We initially asked him for 3 strings of 2 in series into a 3 string combiner box. With this OSV is 104.8 and 40 Amps. We assumed that this was safest for these problematic Axpert inverters. But the installer says that this is a waste and too expensive. Some advise will be much appreciated here as I want to address it before the connections begin.
  15. This ups is always Online so "0" change over time. This ups is not affected by the main unit change over at the DB . This has been running perfectly for 2 weeks. My fridges are permanently powered and dont even skip a beat. Works for me 100 %
  16. I have found this cost effective solution thats working perfectly/ I have installed a Cheap online UPS between my main UPS ( in eco mode ) and my 2 fridges and my chest freezer. When load sheading on / off my fridges dont skip a beat. Constant 220 volt regardless of incoming voltage. So i have also solved my Fan noise issue at the same time. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.

  18. Has anyone tried a small offline ups between the main inverter / ups and a fridge to absorb the change over time ?? I'm trying to stop my fridge from shutting down when AC power drops and ups kicks in.
  19. We did flash the latest Firmware update. Should I be looking to replace this with a Newer model ?? It's only 3 months old
  20. Thanks, I am using this setting. UPS. Changeover is like a definite off then on again. Has anybody had any success with a Capacitor bank or similar ?? The inverter works perfect when on Auto mode ..... But because it is installed indoors the fans ramp up so loud it is quite unpleasant.
  21. Hi Guys, Some advice please. First time here and my apologies if this was already discussed. I am running a 5KW Axpert King OG equivalent in Eco Mode. ( pass through ) When my AC Grid power drops the changeover time to inverter mode is too long and the off and then on again is messing with my fridges. ( also 220v on Eco to 230v on Ups ) I have installed a Ellies Fridge Safe voltage protector on 1 fridge but it does not seem to help. Is there perhaps anything else I can try on the input power side to absorb / overcome this delay. Also when ac grid power returns there is no problem and the changeover is very quick .
