  1. After serveral weeks of testing the inverter in different modes, I decided to go back to my supplier in china to discuss the problem. They adviced me that inverter firmware was old hence my problem. Yesterday they were able to update it and now Im able to use my generator to charge my battery. I am not sure why Deye have decided to update inverters by demand instead of a massive rollout but im glad that this is now working.
  2. Thanks any additional suggestion? The inverter has the option to charge the battery, its just not powering up when GEN is connected.
  3. Hello everyone, Winter is approaching, and I'm attempting to connect a two-phase generator (L1, L2, N) to a Deye 8kW Hybrid Inverter that is currently operating off-grid (9 kW battery and 3.5 kW solar panels). For the past three days, I have tried both the Grid and Gen ports based on information found on YouTube and this forum. However, for some reason, the inverter is displaying voltage on both lines (L1=120V L2=120V) but no power, making it impossible to charge the battery. I have three hypotheses, but it might be helpful to check them in case someone has encountered this issue before. The generator's frequency is around 63 Hz. Could this be a problem? I checked the settings and set it within the range. The inverter and the generator are not connected to earth (this is very common where I live). So far, I have been able to survive with the panels and battery. Initially, the inverter was throwing an earth error, but I was able to fix this by connecting a small cable between GEN N and the inverter's case. Is the issue related to the firmware? I bought the system two years ago and have recently read about some firmware changes. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or if you have encountered a similar issue. Thank you for your time and assistance.
