Steven Burnett got a reaction from system32 in Dazed and Confused - So Many Options, So Little Money.wow, nice project!
I know you say it's not possible, but consolidating/converting to energy efficient geysers seems like it should be a worthwhile exercise.
always cheaper to save wasted power than generate new.

Steven Burnett reacted to PaulinNorthcliff in New energy rules for South Africa will help businesses and households move off Eskom’s gridThis is starting to become political... and that's both unavoidable and can lead to injured sensitivities. The problem with Eksdom as with every other state owned or controlled entity is that they are run by communists... and communists aren't really people 😂
Here endith the lesson.

Steven Burnett got a reaction from 87 Dream in New energy rules for South Africa will help businesses and households move off Eskom’s gridthe people who are going to invest money into solar to feed in are just going to spend their money to reduce their grid consumption other ways.
so the "loss of revenue" from these customers is coming either way. this addiction to loading funding into electricity by municipalities to cross subsidise other operations is not going to work in extremes forever. it makes the alternatives more viable.
the train has already left the station a long time ago, but the best solution is time of use charging. we should be paying for electricity for what it costs to produce.then the free market will work it out

Steven Burnett got a reaction from Allen Hobson in What Generator will work?looking at putting an adendorff gennie onto a goodwe ES/pylontech offgrid system.
was going to use the gennie as the "grid" and then when required in mornings run it through the inverter to charge the batteries/provide power
but now I'm going through the manual again, and page 5 tells me no no.
https://www.goodwe.com/Public/Uploads/sersups/EM USER MANUAL.pdf
i suppose the only other way is to charge batteries directly, but how would you do that (they are 48VDC and the gennie is 220V AC)

Steven Burnett got a reaction from Allen Hobson in What Generator will work?looking at doing the same before winter arrives properly- got 2 pylontechs with a goodwe.
am hoping to run the generator for maybe 90 minutes in the morning to run an office and charge 2 batteries.
will be on a dedicated manual switch on system,
any advice from those who've done this before welcome
