  1. So I contacted the company recommended and I must say I am very impressed with their communication and response. However while you can find the Ekurhuleni tariffs and application forms online it seems that in reality it doesnt exist. was awaiting confirmation on any recent changes from the Municipality regarding export credits and related matters. While we can apply for export power on your behalf, and the Municipality will approve it, but you will not be able to enjoy export credits immediately. The Municipality currently does not have necessary billing structures in place and are also not ready to install bidirectional meters to replace non-bidirectional ones, which is a prerequisite for enjoying export credits.
  2. Hi, Is there anybody here with knowledge or who had done feedback into the grid with Ekurhuleni? I am having an issue with my sunsynk inverters not measuring grid input correctly which I did start a thread on here but unfortunately no solution and my useless installers are now claiming my mains meter must be faulty. If I get Ekurhuleni to look at the meter they will install a prepaid meter. My meter is probably over 40 years old. The other option is to do the SSEG application and have the meter replaced with a four quadrant automated meter reading type that is required for that. I would be interested on anyones opinions on this or anyone who has done the sseg process but with Ekurhuleni specifically. Many thanks.

I only have 1 ct coil and it was installed in the inverter where it unscrews. They moved it to the new ac db box where the switch is to move it up for eskom or down for solar. The slave shows zero input. Moving it made no difference but its far from the main db.

Is it possible the ct coil is installed in the wrong place or too far from the main DB board? The inverters are about 15-20 meters from my main db

Thanks I hope this is correct. Inverter 1 and 2 with ac light showing and 1 and 2 with ac off. Not much sun so hope it shows what needs to. Thanks a million.

Hi, I hope im posting the correct values as its a bit new to me and im still figuring out. If I havnt Ill do it again. Ive attached photos of my meter reading for today showing 5kwh and the inverter input showing half at 2.5kwh. Im not sure if ive used the correct parameters but its with grid on and then off for both inverters. Thanks its really appreciated.

Ive got no eskom power due to cable fault so will post the screenshots as soon as I can. Thank you for the reply.
  8. Hi, I wonder if anyone can perhaps help me. Ive had two sunsynk 5kw inverters installed in parallel about a month ago and the grid usage recorded by the inverters seems to be inaccurate. The usage recorded by my mains meter is about double what the grid input recorded by the inverter. The slave inverter records 0 input and im not sure if thats the problem where the half usage is missing or if just the master records all the grid usage and there is another reason the grid input is inaccurate. I saw this while trying to search for the problem yesterday and am unsure if maybe this is the problem. https://www.sunsynk.org/post/eastron-meters-do-you-need-one . I have been trying to sort it out with the installer since 2 days after the install when I first noticed it. I sent them the link this morning. The reply I got is “it is a cloud problem and I will need to contact Sunsynk. The system is working 100%” . While i agree it is working and the unit is not dead, not recording the usage correctly is not working 100% and since its never recorded correctly and I pointed it out a few days after installation the installer should sort it out under warranty. It is not jut inaccurate on the app but on the inverters themselves. I have turned off eskom my side to ensure no one is connected to my meter and that is where the usage is going. Does anyone have any ideas it would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks.
