Yes, that would be the first choice. I saw a similar topic by DeepBass9, who was interested in converting his wind pump and posted a screenshot of a gearbox schematic. Sadly I can't go take the measurements myself since am planning the project from Germany, where I study. But if all goes to plan installation and testing will be in Namibia in September.

Thanks, I know that website. They mainly discuss their new gearbox design. I need specific dimensions of the old gearboxes to build a CAD model and design some parts like a bracket for the generator etc.

Hi everyone, as part of my studies in mech. engineering I'm designing a conversion kit to use old wind pumps for electricity production. For this I need detailed information on the gearbox assembly, like dimensions of the shafts, gears and housing. Has anyone old manuals, technical specifications or drawings lying around or would be willing to take some pictures and measurements on their wind pump? I'm especially interested in the Stewarts and Lloyds Climax models and would hugely appreciate any help. I will post the building plans and results after testing here and on instructables.com.
