Hi everyone,
I hope somebody will be able to give me some guidance on my trolley inverter.
Brief background: Mid 2024 I built my own 3wk trolley inverter. The inverter consists of a 3kw 24V Kodak Inverter that I purchased from Power Forum, and +- 2.5kwh 24V Sunmagic Battery. I assembled/connected the system on my own (Google/Youtube and Electrician assistance) the trolley has got its own DB, where I can isolate the incoming AC from a 220 plug and outgoing AC from the inverter. Got the system connected and worked for a solid 6 months. No solar, used Eskom to charge the battery. I only used the system to keep our families remote working run smoothly, it working perfectly.
To my dismay Eskom actual started generating electricity and gradually stopped using the system permanently. Once a month a drained the battery to 50% and then reverted to Eskom power. Note the trolley always had Eskom connected, battery did not run flat at any point.
Over Christmas I switched everything off (battery and inverter). Coming back I switched everything on (Battery and inverter) However, the system is not working as is should. The inverter is not switching on (AC or DC). I used a mulitmeter to check the DC output of the battery after the fuses, it is giving me the required voltage and amp. Additionally the inverter is not switching on with 220v AC.
Has the onboard fuse of the inverter blown? Has should I go about testing and troubleshooting the issue?
Help will be appreciated.
Thanks
