  1. Hi, my screen was replaced under warranty although I had to pay the courier expenses. It wasn’t related to the coms. It just went dead and never came on again. I have a solar assistant which communicates with the inverter. I couldn’t get the battery to communicate with the solar assistant even with some help from the Wattsapp group. I’ve tried multiple cables etc. I also cannot get my laptop to connect.

Hi It pushes the air up. No fans at the bottom. The thermistor is placed on the heatsink. It works well. The internal temperature never exceeds 60 degrees. In summer my garage temperature easily exceeds 35 degrees

My inverter is installed in my garage and during summer it gets quite hot in Bloemfontein. When you park a hot car in there it gets even hotter. I realized the Inverter DC side reached temperatures of near 90 degrees during midday. I installed 3 x 120mm computer fans on top with a temperature controller switching the fans on and off. The thermistor is attached to the heatsink. The heatsink temperature is about 20 degrees below the internal temperature indicating by the app. With the fans the temperature stays below 60 degrees. I 3D printed the bracket and bought the temperature controller from an online store for under R200 with a 12V powersupply. Is anybody is interested visit Thingiverse:Thing6468217 to get the STL files for the bracket. (Search Sunsynk 5kW)
  4. I installed a SVolt 48V connected to a Mecer inverter about 9 months ago at my Holiday home in Nelspruit. When I visited there this month the LCD screen on the battery was dead. The battery is functioning 100% and the LED's on top is indicating charge and is working. The BMS must be working as well. Anybody have similar experience with this battery?
  5. Has anybody installed a SVolt Lithium battery with an Apert (Mecer) mark1 inverter. As I understand it you have to put in the voltages manually as the Apert won't communicate with the BMS of the battery. But now I have seen posts with this combination with a data cable plugged in. Has anybody managed get these inverters communicating the the BMS of modern batteries. Is it at all possible? The Axpert don't even have an option for Lithium batteries only a "user defined" option. Opinions will be appreciated
  6. I'm in Bloemfontein. One morning during load shedding it just stopped working. No error message but the LCD flashed on and off and I could hear a relay switching on and off. The manual says a battery disconnect, but it was lead-acid batteries connected and voltage was above 50 volt. I charged them separately anyway and reconnect with the same result. Common sense tells me then there must be a internally disconnection from the battery. When I connect only the AC nothing happens - No lights, no sound. Any ideas?

    Thanks, thought so
  8. Does anybody have experience with Axpert inverters and Lithium batteries. Can they communicate with the batteries or do you need to set up manually eg charge and load cutoffs. The inverter has the Mecer name on it and was installed around 6 years ago, so probably a mark 1, the 5kW model. Which Lithium batteries do you recommend.
  9. Where in Gauteng or Freestate can I get my Axpert 5kW inverter repaired?
  10. I got this sorted out with some help from Freedom won batteries. It turns out a normal ethernet cable as supplied with the Sunsynk inverter doesn’t work. So whats needed is the following. The normal ethernet plugs (RJ45) Pin 7 of battery goes to pin 4 of inverter and Pin 8 of battery goes to pin 5 of inverter. You don’t need the other wires.
  11. I need some help with a communication failure between a Sunsynk 5K SG01LP1 and a Freedom Lite 10/8 battery. I used the standard cable supplied with the inverter. I also checked the cable. The inverter is working 100% but there is no BMS communication. What should I check?
  12. I have an solar system installed about 5 years ago using an Axpert generic inverter (Mecer 5KVA) I have four 12 V 200Ah batteries installed. I have noticed lately that they just make the 2.5 h load shedding before they reach their limit where as before they easily lasted the 2.5 hours. I suspect they have reached the end of their lifetime. I need to know has anybody replaced their lead acid batteries with a Lithium battery on this inverter and what are your experience with it. I am thinking to buy a 10kWh Lithium battery instead of the four 12v lead-acid batteries. Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. I agree, somebody had a post of a website on this forum listing a site that allow you to build your own software or dashboard as they call it. He showed a picture but did not share what he has done sofar. I had a go at it but it seems my head is too flat. If I remember correctly its Emoncms
  14. I am new to this forum and I have some electronic background but find myself on unfamiliar ground here. I had a system installed in my home about a year ago consisting of nine solar panels, 5 KVA inverter and a battery bank of 200Ah. As I have come to understand is that the inverter used is a generic inverter from Voltronic sold under the Mecer name in South Africa. I have programmed the inverter to best suit my needs and my electricity bill was cut by 50%. I have since removed my sun-geyser, aircon, stove from the system as they consume too much power and now everything is working well most of the time. I have a few questions regarding the inverter as this was not explained to me by the company that installed the system. 1. When the inverter overloads, the alarms start beeping and will keep on beeping even if the load is removed. How do you kill the alarms and how do you manually reset the inverter? 2. Is it normal for the overload alarm to trigger if the inverter is on bypass - ie the load connected to the utility? 3. I have connected the inverter to my pc with the watchpower software via the RS232 port. I see there is also a USB port as used on some printers - what is the purpose of this port? I would appreciate some comments on these issues. 4. I saw very nice monitoring software from Solarmon on the internet. I understand this is no longer available. Does anybody maybe have a copy of this software?
  15. Does anybody still have a copy of the solarmon monitoring sofware? The ICC software looks ok but is pricey.
