Good Day All, With the excessive overcast weather we have been having in KZN, especially in the Upper Highway, the PV is not sufficient enough to charge the battery as well as supply the household. Therefore, we are drawing from the battery quite heavily during the day, which leaves the battery drained for the night time. I will fast charge the battery at periods during the day to try get it topped up, but I cannot help but think there is a more efficient way. I was trying to set the PV to charge the battery only and the Grid supply the house, that way the battery wont be drained by the night time and we have "free" energy at night. We have a Lux power SNA5000 with a Dyness 5kva battery and 10 x 550W solar panels. The system works great when there is slight overcast to full sun and the battery is generally charged by 10/11 as well as running the full load of the house. We run all our machinery during daylight to utilise the PV as much as possible. However, the overcast/rainy days are the concern, especially for the battery as it never actually gets fully charged on these days. Just a slow charge then drained again. Does anyone know what the best settings are to help with this? Thank you in advance.
