  1. Hi, I have an issue with newly installed solar panels (TR-665W - TRINA SOLAR 665W MONO SOLAR PANEL) on my roof. I have split the panels up into 2 arrays at roughly the same angle (+- 20 degrees). The more north array (array 2) casts a slight shadow on the second string but about 10 - 15% on the bottom of the panels as I installed in summer and forgot about the sun shift in winter. Array 1 (the array with the shadow on) generates about only 50% of array 2 (the array with full sun) I always assumed it was the shadow that caused the difference in power generation but this morning before the sun was up I checked the inverter and found that this difference was still present although the sun was not out yet (it was light but no direct sunlight yet). Array 1 and array 2 both had the same voltage output (which indicates that all the panels in both arrays had the same amount of panels connected) at that point but array 1 was generating roughly half the amps of array 2 (even though there was no shadow yet) I will move array 1's panels in time to get out of the shadow. Anybody got any ideas as to why this would be?
  2. Hello all, thanks for accepting me to the forum. I have the Proline MAX II 11KW inverter (same as the Axpert MAX II 11KW inverter) with 4 x Proline PROLIO4810 Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries and 10 x Trina 665KW solar panels, the system has just recently been installed at my home and is up and running. My question is as follows: The manual for the MAX II in the section "battery type" has the following options: AGM User-Defined Pylon Tech WECO Soltaro LIB-protocol compatible battery (for Lithium batteries compatible to the LIB protocol) 3rd Party Lithium Battery In all cases except the "User Defined" option they mention that the settings for (Maximum charging current, Bulk charging voltage, Floating charging voltage and Low DC cut-off voltage) will be set up automatically. So even if you do or could set the "Low DC cut-off voltage", it seems that the default will apply for the "LIB" protocol and your settings will be ignored. I have chosen option 6 - "LIB-protocol compatible battery" but I have noticed that the batteries one night discharged to below 20%, around 16-18% and still did not switch over to Utility, I have heard that it is not good to totally discharge the batteries even though they can handle it, but to rather have then change over to Utility at around 20% at least. Does anyone know if this option is the correct option or should I say choose "User-Defined" and set the "Low DC cut-off voltage" to 20% manually? I am not sure what the "LIB" protocol means and if my batteries are compatible and if they are why does it allow the batteries to discharge to below 20%. Many Thanks
