I think going off grid is a great idea provided your household members support the idea because sooner or later they will need to do something to help in some way and they need to be happy to help otherwise your life will become miserable! I don't think Rent to Buy is a good idea because you are really just asking someone else to borrow some money, add some risk contingency, add some profit and you hope they provide something that is any good. I think its better to get your own loan, do your own research and install something that actually does what you want. The best thing is that you are in control and not in the dark!

I have tried the out of the box HA Goodwe Integration without success so I am building my own. It is a work in progress and I am no expert but learning by much trial and error. My eventual goal is to automate the buying and selling according to the market prices. I can read and display quite a few of the Inverter's operations but I want to also control importing (Battery Charging) and (Discharging) exporting to grid which requires sending commands to the inverter. I am finding this is more difficult because you need to know the various modbus registers involved and the inverter is quite picky about what it listens to. I have watched the packets from and to the Soloargo app to get an idea of how it all hangs together. I have attached a few shots of my dashboard but bear in mind this is just experimentation to gain access to the various sensors so its by no means a finished product. I am wondering if anyone is doing a similar thing and made progress with successfully sending buy/sell commands to the inverter using modbus registers.
