Problems using protocol P18 with hybrid inverter EASUN IGrid SV IV
After many trials I did achieve the goal: I installed the newest kernel (6.12.47+rpt-rpi-v9 aarch64) and the required modules. It wasn't easy for me, but now the pl2303 serial cable communicates between Rpi and inverter and all commands do work correctly . . . 😀

Problems using protocol P18 with hybrid inverter EASUN IGrid SV IV
I was very busy and a little sick, thus I still didn't test the debug mode of Solarpower. I will do it soon. But I got a RJ45 to USB cable with Prolific chip pl2303 like this one: https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005007485736923.html Because I was told that the communication with such a serial cable is better than with an USB to USB cable. The linux kernel of my Raspberry Pi is 4.14.98-v7+. But if I download the version 4.14_ok from Prolific's website, it turns out to be 4.19.66-v7+. I don't achieve to make the cable work. Any suggestion? It seems that the kernel 4.14.98-v7+ is obsolete. To update the OS and the kernel in a Raspberry Pi doesn't seem very difficult. But I'm a complete rookie concerning Linux and Raspberry. Do you recommend me to try updating the kernel to 4.19.xx or newer ? Would the programs written in Python3 still work with kernel 4.19.xx ?

Thank you very much, @riogrande75. That sounds really promising. I'll try the debug mode of SolarPower asap - hope it will give me some info. German language is no problem; my Dad was born in Austria, thus I do speak German. I will report the results here (and if I need some help, too).

Problems using protocol P18 with hybrid inverter EASUN IGrid SV IV
Thank you for your reply, @riogrande75 Next week I will do more tests with the new inverter. Than I will make screenshots from the inverters replies. I don't have sufficient knowledge to dissasemble de FW code. Neither to trace the serial port while using watchpower. What I know is that the same commands don't work with watchpower (which for the Infinisolar inverters is called 'Solarpower').

Problems using protocol P18 with hybrid inverter EASUN IGrid SV IV
Hello over there. I am Niko from Spain and I entered this forum just now. Presently I do have a problem with my new hybrid inverter. It is an EASUN IGrid SV IV 5.6 kW. As far as I know, this inverter is identical to the Voltronic InfiniSolar V IV 5.6 kW. Since 2019 we use an InfiniSolar V 4.0 kW (Voltronic) from the first generation. I do control it via USB cable connected to a Raspberry Pi V3. Communication between inverter and Rpi is by a program written by me in Python for Rpi. The commands are according to the protocol P18; they do work perfectly. The new inverter uses the protocol P18, too. Most of the commands work well, but there are 4 commands which I need in my program which do not work. These are the 4 commands which I do need but do not work: ^S007POP0/1; ^S014MUCHGC0,nnn; ^S015MCHGVmmm,nnn y ^S016ACCThhmm,hhmm. I do suspect that the problems originates by using an USB cable between inverter an Rpi. Thus I will try to make the communication via a RJ45 to USB cable with Prolific chip (RS232 at the inverter; USB at the Rpi). I did order this cable: Easun/MPP Solar Inverter USB RS232 Communication Cable Prolific PL2303GT USB RS232 Serial to RJ45 8P8C Communication Cable - AliExpress 7 It will arrive soon and then I can try if it works better than an USB cable. My question is: Does any of the 'cracks' in this forum (e.g. @Coulomb ?) have any other idea what I could do? I do attach the protocol P18 for InfiniSolar V. Comandos_Infini_V_(P18).pdf
