Hello to everyone!
I have been trying to figure this out but I am in so over my head and the more I read the more I have questions.
So our problem is as follow:
1. We are renting, therefore anything we do cannot be permanent
2. We live in City of Cape Town
3. Bare minimum equipment everything on at max load is 3,000W
4. Preferred would be 5,000W everything on at the same time at full load. (I know this will not be the norm, but I like taking worst case scenario) This obviously does not include things like microwave, tumble dryer etc
I very helpful gentleman recommend using a "UPS" consisting of the following:
1. 2 x pylontech units for a total energy of 4800Wh
2. victron 3000VA 48V multiplus acting in UPS mode
This sounds fine, although maybe a little expensive. I understand this would not involve the SSEG. The lithium batteries are durable and should last a long time.
I however have two questions:
1. What would the difference be if the inverter is changed to an Axpert 5kVA 5000W 48V Hybrid Inverter other than not complying with SSEG?
2. Is there anyway using solar to charge the batteries without it being grid tied and running into SSEG?
Thank you so much for the assistance!
