Hi Coulomb, Thanks so much for getting back to me! Will then need to get a RS242 to USB so I can do both in the same breath. It might be the better option in any event because then I can use the flash tools to ensure that proper Serial Coms are established and I can get the stuff talking etc. Will need to buy you a coffee when the AUD/ZAR exchange rate is favorable again... LOL!

Ah ok so now the 20 questions. From what I have read it seems that the DSP is separate form the Detachable Display Firmware. I.e. the Inverter CPU will take the DSP.hex (72.0) and the detachable display will take the 02.83 must be loaded via the Serial Reflash if my understanding is correct. I do not have the USB-Serial but I am an eager beaver and would really like to get this firmware on the the Inverter. Is there a requirement to update the Display so it "works" with the DSP.hex (72.0) or can you manage the settings via Watchpower App via the Bluetooth connection? The last thing I want to happen is me uploading the firmware and then sitting with a display that can't provide input to the CPU. Although I prefer the Watchpower App as I don't have to go through 20 button presses for simple actions. Then I have also noted that the above link if 72.0 (OCT 2022 - https://powerforum.co.za/files/file/114-axpert-king-5kw-main-cpi-7200-reflashzip/) but there is also a 72.0a and 02.83a which is much more recent (SEP 2023 - https://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=97712#p97712) or is this just a BETA only although it indicates that its patched due to the fact that Youda bought you guys a King to play with. Or are the only changes the DC and LC that is added on with 72.0a? Kind regards, John Fox

Hi Coulomb, Thanks for the feedback. We were away for holidays so only getting a chance to catch up now. Will have a gander at the firmware this weekend and do the upload. For fear of being an askhole I will first go read up on tge loading of the firmware etc. as I am sure it is detailed in your link. Any hiccups I will get back to you guys.

Good day All, I have been trawling through the forum and have found some great info but am looking for what I fear may be something unobtainable. I have an Axpert King 5kW (Firmware 71.9) and I would like the system to run in SBU during the day to maximise PV generation and then at night in SUB or USB mode as I do not have sufficient storage capacity to get through an entire night. Also given that the inverter has some niggle in that when you transition between "Back to Batt and Back to Grid" voltages it charges the battery at a constant 2A which then causes the battery to cycle and/or be at float voltage when the sun comes up. Is there any workaround for this? I.e. new firmware or some or other settings to get it to max out on PV during the day while at night it runs from grid? Your assistance is very much appreciated!

Good day All, I am unfortunately in Cape Town and hence CoCT are being outright (insert profanity here) about their NRS "approved" Inverters. I have (form many years of work) this manic need for redundancy and hence am looking at getting 2x 3kVA MKS-3K-Plus Axperts and parallel them so in the event I loose one I at least still have half load capability or have the ability to increase full load by adding additional units at a later stage. The price point is then similar to say a MLT Oasis 8.0H with no redundancy and then I still need to add a MPPT to the mix as well. Are there any other inverters that can be paralleled other than the Voltronic Axpert that I just haven't come accross yet that also have a built in MPPT. Thanks in advance for the replys.
