I need to know the main (U1) firmware version. You can still read this even in fault mode, either from the front panel, or via monitoring software.

I checked on the inverter display and it shows: U1 30.22.0.
The model is a SAKO Sunpolo 8.2 kW (48 V).
Unfortunately, after only about 2 months of use it went into fault F90, just as you described with the clone detection. I have already tried flashing with different .inv files through HID USB, but every time it fails with the “Firmware update check ready error”.
It’s disappointing that the seller didn’t mention this, and after spending this much money I now realize they sold me a clone unit that locks up after a short time.
Could you please let me know if there’s a patched firmware available for U1 30.22.0 that bypasses the clone check, or if there’s another way to rescue this inverter?

Your photo shows U3 02 00; I need the U1 firmware version.
Sorry for the late reply; I've been really busy.

I forgot to mention that this could be because you are not using a USB to RS-232 converter cable, attaching to the D9 to RJ-45 cable that should come with the inverter (but some clones may not supply it). You can make your own; pinout here (don't connect +12V, just the other three wires). The communications port is NOT an ethernet port, even though it uses the same connector.

You could also connect via USB, or attempt to use a USB stick via a USB OTG cable. All in the above instructions.
