  1. When load exceeds available solar, the unit either majes up the difference with battery or utility. But what happens when load exceeds rated power of the unit itself (3kw)? My understanding is that brief microsecond peaks upto 6kw are handled by the unit, but I also understood that it would switch to bypass mode and supply power from utility. However, does this mean that loads over 3kw can be safely supplied by the unit, albeit via the utility supply, or will the unit cut out (or burn out), disconnecting all supply? For example. I can happily power the washing machine or dishwasher at the same time as general loads like the fridge etc, but if both were used at the same time, or somebody used the kettle, load would exceed 3kw. What would this mean in practice? Tripping an overload protection switch, threatening overheating damage, or tripping a bypass relay to transfer load to utility?

  3. I have downloaded the data log from my 3kw Axpert VMIII to a USB stick but can't understand the format. Some of the columns look like they could be battery voltage but the rest I have no idea. There are no obvious time stamps or dates either. Anyone know how to interpret or make use of these logs?
