  1. Indeed, suspect an eskom surge fried it. The main AC fuse in the inverter also popped, which has since been replaced and the inverter is working albeit without the LCD/display unit. I took the removable display into an electronics repair shop and they said it cannot be repaired.
  2. Item Wanted: Kodak / Axpert King LCD/Control unit Mine has given up, suspect something blew. It wont even turn the inverter on, right now I've bypassed it using the RJ45 pin 7 & 8 method. Inverter is working fine. Any replacement from a broken inverter or spare is fine, I can flash the correct firmware. Packaging Essential: No Desired Age: Any Location: Johannesburg Willing to accept a shipped item: Yes Ballpark/Budget Amount: R500?
  3. I split my strings, used each string on the inputs of the Axpert Max so that PV1 and PV2 ports are both populated, previously only PV1 input was populated. It now blends as it should, using the most it can out of the solar. In the end, it does require both PV ports to be populated to function optimally. Thank you all for the assistance!
  4. Very interesting, so much for standards as you say 😂
  5. I found out some more info with regards to the RJ45-RS232 cable, pin 4 carries +12V. This is what has been blowing the adapters and could also cause problems with burning your card RJ45 Pin4 -> DB9 Pin6 +12V So there are two types of cables, one powered and the other not. Just check if that pin is populated.
  6. Max, yes sorry. Ordered another disconnect so that I can split my strings, then have each input on the MAX populated. I hope this solves the issue of the grid usage.
  7. Thank you all, will put a string on each of the inputs, lets see if that changes it!
  8. Hi All, I had a 5kw Axpert VMIII, worked great, but I kept overloading it. I replaced it with a 7.2kw Axpert King. The VMIII would use as much solar as it could, it would not use utility or battery at all during the day. The King however wont use the full solar capability, it's balancing solar + utility for output in SUB mode. For example, output is 1000W it will take 500W solar and 500W utility. If I switch it to SBU mode it will then pull much more solar and only touches battery power in weak solar cases. 1. I have two strings going into the PV1 port, PV2 port is blank. Must I split the strings and use both ports on the King? 2. How can I get SUB mode to use the most solar it can before drawing from utility? (Firmware is 45.07)
  9. Had the same issue with a Axpert 7.2kw King I purchased recently, kept blowing the rs-232 usb adapters. I suspect the cable has the wrong pinouts or I used the rs-232 from my old 5kw Axpert. If by any chance someone has the pinout for the 7.2KW Axpert I'd really appreciate it, I'll make a new cable, just wanted to upgrade the firmware. I tried the following pin outs with no success: RJ45 - DB9 female 1 -> 2 (TXD) 2 -> 3 (RXD) 8 -> 5 (GND)
