Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
Setting 5 might be OK but some levels might give you a short life out of them. I have this set as FLD with your values as above...As it does not give me Gel option in the menu....would you then recommend Use rather than FLD ...at setting 5. Thanks again.

Thank-you Scorp007. It does not give me option Gel at setting 5. Would FLD do? If so will this profile give me the recommended settings? If not, What would my settings then be at No's 26,27 &29. TIA.

Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
Hi Guru's, I've replaced my 2 AGM Vision 12V 100AH batteries (end of service) with 2 Joule LCPC100-12 (12v 100AH) Gel batteries...non AGM. I need to change the settings on my Mecer/Axpert sol-i-ax-3m24v (Genuine) . Please advise or point me to a post which has these setting. Thanks. Much appreciated.

Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
Thank you so much for this re-assurance...sorry I updated my previous post with a correction before seeing this reply, but I see you fully understood my explanation. I do not run any motors etc...the kitchen appliances are isolated from the inverter circuit, so maybe during the next load shed I must just check what my SOC is ..... Thanks a ton once again....such a pleasure to get such expert advice....especially as the suppliers of these lovely inverters (when you set them up right) seem to not be able to.🙂👌👍

I did not get this loss of battery indication--- should read "display drop in battery charge". P.S. The Voltage readings when it shows the 2bar half full battery -if using a multimeter gives me 27v.

Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
A further update. After the switch back on to mains and the top up charge, I now again switched the mains off....and the battery display again gave me only 2 bars ... i.e. half full. My concern is that if on load shedding the inverter kicks in with what it believes is a half full battery, will I only get a very short back up duration. When going to the AGM setting on 5, I did not get this loss of battery indication when inverter took over the power supply. I was able to input settings at 26, 27, & 29 when on AGM.... what do you suggest. Many thanks for your input.

Thank you Coulomb. I have input 5) USE, 26) 28.8v, 27) 27v, 29) 23v. On switching off mains(i.e.) going on to inverter power, I do not get the error code [4] BUT the battery state icon (bars) dropped immediately to half full?? Switched mains back on...charged for another +- 10 mins till full. Would this be normal? I will leave these settings and see how we go during next load shed.

Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
Hi Coulomb, thank you for helping here...it is most appreciated. Setting 5 AGM was the magic bullet regarding error code [4] "low volts" that I was getting. . This was the reason for me believing that the batteries had not taken a full charge and me not using the inverter for fear of damaging the new batteries....yet when using a multimeter it showed fully charged batteries. Changing from USE eliminated the error code [4] ... and also gave me the battery fully charged (ail bars) indicator. I then ran the inverter (mains switched off) for 1 hour on a light load, the battery indicator had lost 1 bar... switched mains back on and inverter charged the batteries back up to full. Do you suggest that changing the vale at 29) to 23V would eliminate the low battery warning if taking 5 back to USE? (BTW...my setting here is currently at 24v). I will update setting 27) to 27v. Currently I'm being load shed one a day...giving ample time for the batteries to recharge at 20A.... however, do you think I should go to 30A as the batteries are rated to take that.....would it affect longevity? Thanks again for the valuable input.👍

Bingo!! Seems like we struck pay-dirt! Thanks 87 Dream. Changed setting no5 to AGM....no more low voltage error [4]. Been running for 20 mins...the battery icon on display shows all bars full....am currently sending this from my PC whilst on inverter current. Menu 26)-28.2v, 27)-27v, 29)-24.0v. Will let it run off mains for a while, then switch back to mains and see how inverter charger charges these batteries. Hopefully this means that I have not fallen prey to the dreaded Float bug... 87 Dream...you are a star😇. Thanks for your patience & great advice. 🙂👌👏

Thanks 87 Dream....happy we are OK with the batteries....and the original genuine Voltronics inverter - hopefully we have not got the dreaded Float Bug .... I see another reply...I will shortly attend to that and revert back to you. Hopefully this kicks the charger into doing its work..🙂 Thanks for all your input

Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
Hi again 87 Dream. I strongly doubted that I could have damaged these batteries as once connected in series to the inverter and switching mains on, the inverter charger only charged for less than 5 mins. The display indicated a full battery (still does), but on switching off the mains supply, the low battery warning flashed and the display gave me battery 1-2 bars. Immediately switched mains back on bypassing inverter. Charged another less than 5 mins...repeated the process...still low battery warning so quickly switched back to mains. Did this only twice....my max charge setting at the time was 20A....and draw was only TV & Modem. My max draw would be TV, Modem, PC & 2 lamps. On connecting the new batteries 3 days ago the display gave me 27.6v. Today the reading was 27v. My problem is to get these batteries charged so that I can use this inverter safely now that you have kindly given me settings (already input) that will be kind to those batteries. I have however checked what you asked me to do.. and got 13.5v for each battery....and again 13.5v an hour later. So for now, until I can get the inverter to charge these batteries, there will be no draw (other than internal) from them. Lets hope we can come up with a solution to getting them charged, Thanks in anticipation. I attach ID plate photo of my inverter.

Issues with Voltex Inverter 5kva / Batteries
Thank you 87 Dream. Yes, our problems seem the same. Fortunately, my inverter still switches on.....but is also not charging the batteries....and until it does, I will & have not run anything off them.....and they still show a float voltage of 27v (I cannot as a pensioner afford to damage a new set of batteries...in fact this goes for all of us)

Ok, I have changed the settings to those you provided. 29 will not let me enter more than 24.0v I switched off the mains, the inverter kicked in, but the low volts warning [4] came up again so I immediately switched the mains back on .... it seems the batteries had not taken any charge (this is now since new 3 days ago)....however, since entering the changed settings you so kindly provided, it seems that the charger ran for a fair bit longer than in the past...but still only about 15 mins which tells me something is telling the inverter that the battery is fully charged when it is not.

Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
Thank you 87 Dream for the reassuring welcome & the range of settings for my inverter. I seem to think that the inverter settings I have (as in my original post) believe the batteries are fully charged. The at rest battery voltage reads 27.6v. As per your second very informative reply, on the chart it may be that the batteries are charged...(could this be?) and that the low volts warning [04] I got after the first charge may have "mis-read" something. Thanks for your advised settings in your third post...these are invaluable. My initial charge setting was 20A.....only set it to 30A when it did not "seem" to have charged the batteries. It has not charged at this higher value. The inverter has NOT supplied power during load shedding...so I dont believe the new batteries have been hurt....(the low battery warning after the first <5 min charge made me switch off the inverter and not drain any power from the batteries) Thank again...I will input your settings and see how she goes..... Do you think I should test and run off mains ... maybe I have a full battery @ 27.6v and not a uncharged battery as I at first thought?

Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v not charging from mains
Good day all the great knowledgeable/practical & professional experts on this really special forum. This is my first post on this forum...but joined more than a year ago and have looked everywhere on it to find what could be causing my problem...which has become very worrying especially with the increase in load shedding and the purchase of two new Vision HF12-470W-X lead-calciumtin alloy batteries...which are now connected and showing error (4). I do not want to leave the batteries in this state (as they were when bought) (a pensioner like me really cannot afford to damage these). OK. My inverter is the Mecer/Axpert Sol I AX 3M24v connected to the 2 batteries mentioned above in 24v used only as back up for load shedding without any solar. On replacing the batteries and connecting all 2 days ago, switched on the inverter which confirmed all linked correctly but gave me immediately the low voltage warning code(4), the battery charge level indicator gave me one bar, then switched on the mains, the mains charger booted up, the battery charge indicator flashed only the top bar indicting nearly charged, the stopped flashing as if the batterie were fully charged and promptly switched off. This charge cycle took 5 mins???. Switched off the mains, and the low volts warning was still there. The battery state of charge indicated only on bar as before, booted up the mains, charger kicked in and did the exact same 5 min charge and the switched off. The green charge light is on, but not flashing. To not drain these batteries as they are obviously too low to use, I've switched off the inverter during the last load shed so that no draw takes place. This means this whole costly set up is now ornamental. Can someone please help with some setting/programming of this inverter so as to get it doing what it was bought for. As mentioned, I have seen many settings, but 90% are Solar grid ones while I am not using solar. Herewith my current settings....hopefully someone sees something wrong in these that helps me sort out my problem..🙏 01 - UtI 02 - 30A -the battery spec sheet has this as max 03 - UPS 04 - SdS 05 - USE 06 - LFE 07 - tFE 08 - N/A my model 09 - 50Hz 11 - 30A - the battery spec sheet has this as max 12 - 24.0v 13 - 27.0v 16 - Cut 18 - bOF 19 - ESP 20 - LON 22 - AON 23 - byE 25 - FEn 26 - 28.8v 27 - 28v 29 - 24.8v If you can help solve my problem, it will be greatly appreciated.
