Goodwe 5048ES not restarting after backup output trips
As suggested I sent an email to David Havenga of Goodwe, and he replied the same day. I'v copied his reply in full bvelow. " Good Day Sir, In future please log support queries on our support page https://support.goodwe.com/portal/home. This is how our devices work if the device is overloaded with only battery as a source they do not normally restart. However in our latest firmware we have added a feature to start the unit back up. Please submit a ticket and we will update the device remotely for you. Regarding the off grid output switch it is only visible when the grid is unavailable. Should the device be off during an outage you will see it available to turn back on. Kind Regards David Havenga Technical Manager for Southern Africa GOODWE POWER SUPPLY TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD. " So there's our answer. I have to say that I was suitably impressed by Mr Havenga. He replied within hours of my email, and actually answered the question. Not often do we get such service in South Africa.

Goodwe 5048ES not restarting after backup output trips
Thanks Rambler, I'll drop him an email. I am not in backup mode but if my system trips whilst load shedding it will not restart until Eskom returns, at which point it automatically reboots. The guy that installed the system came around and we tested all possible scenarios and if there is sunlight it restarts but No Eskom and No sunlight equals no restart. I have 4 Pylontech US3000 batteries that were fully charged so electricity should not have been the problem, just a bad piece of software. I'll let you know what happens.

Goodwe 5048ES not restarting after backup output trips
Hi Solisimo. I can't believe that, but if true it is unbelievably stupid on the part of Goodwe. I haven't followed up as it was quite urgent that I solved the problem so I did this by moving the offending item onto the non critical side. However it was a work around rather than a fix. I have in fact sent emails to Goodwe in UK and Germany as I cannot find the Goodwe contact in SA, but I got no response. If somebody could supply a phone number or Email for Goodwe locally then I would be happy to try and get an answer from them

Goodwe 5048ES not restarting after backup output trips
Hi Solisimo. I thought I had so I checked PV Master and it appeared OK, so I checked the PV Master manual and Lo and behold, there is NO Off grid output switch! That is, there is one shown in the manual (p11) but it doesn't appear on PV Master - although the associated text is there. Look at the attached screen dump and it should become clear. Thanks for the help - I'll phone Goodwe today to see what they have to say.

Goodwe 5048ES not restarting after backup output trips
I had exactly the same problem with a goodwe ES 4.6, but I have 4 Pylon US3000. If I check PV master Battery Activated is ON. Is there any other parameter that needs to be set

Goodwe tripping problem
Hi, I've had a Goodwe 4.6 ES , configured in general mode and 4 off Pylontech US3000 battery's installed since March. Generally I'm quite happy with the setup but lately I've had a couple of irritating trips that I'm not sure the cause of. The most irritating was during a load shedding episode last week when I flushed the toilet (silly me, we also have water problems here on the Natal South Coast so the JoJo pump kicked in). The result was that the inverter tripped. No problem I thought, and it will reset and restart, but it didn't - it just sat there with the WiFi light and the battery light oscillating. I had turned off the JoJo pump so it wouldn't attempt to start when the inverter reset. However as soon as Escom was restored the inverter reset, which indicated to me that there was a shortage of power but the battery's were fine. A couple of days later I tripped during the day. The sun was shining, Escom was available and there was about 5% spare capacity in the battery's (that is, there was 5% available before it reached it's DOD limit), and the indication was that I was pulling around 4.2 kW at the time. The inverter tripped and reset in a couple of minutes. This time I managed to get a diagnostic message. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what may be happening? As a related query, PV Master has an alarm page, (Parameters/Alarm) which I understand from the manual should contain "max more than 100 piece of historical alarm or warning information". However my list contains precisely zero. Has anybody come across this before Thanks in advance
