  1. So Mine (Kool energy unit) has been running fine for about 2 months. This week i came home during loadshedding and it was off. So there must have been a random shutdown at some point. I switched it back on and it was on 100% and has been working normally since.
  2. Incredible and they will need to deal with mecer who will deal with CNBM? unless otherwise stated by incredible that you deal directly with mecer?
  3. Yes i think so - there is a post on this thread from a purported technician indicating CNBM.
  4. Unsure - likely a Chinese based OEM as there are different branded (mecer, kool energy) units which are all basically the same.
  5. Let me clarify - it 'seems' to be an issue with SOC/BMS as the manufacturer hasn't confirmed this (other than a random post on this thread). and the symptoms seem to point to that. A complete discharge seems to resolve the battery percentage displaying under 100% - not the root cause. And yes on the lithium units - haven't seen anyone complain on the gel variants. we wont know until we actually get some proper feedback from OEM, not mustek or kool energy as they haven't a clue...
  6. Hi All, for the late joiners to the thread please read the full thread as well as a sister thread on MyBB. Seems to be a issue with SOC display/BMS or SOC calibration. So theoretically nothing wrong with the battery. A full discharge resets display to 100%. This seems to be a widespread problem but also quite a few people where no issues have occured. I have had mine (Kool Energy unit) in use for about 3 weeks now and touch wood no issues.
  7. Let me know what answer you get as I also have the Kool energy unit - mine is still boxed. not sure what level of support we going to get on the kool energy units. not expecting much.
  8. Eish, me thinks they likely did some sort of reboot or 'unplug and plug in again' that mimics what happens when the battery does a full discharge. If we can understand what they did then one can do that every once and a while. but very annoying - not sure if it is worth it to return or 'live with it' not exactly paying peanuts for these units.
  9. Similar experiences noted on a MyBB thread re: the Mecer branded units which seem to be the same thing. Consensus is that its a SOC or BMS issue. No fix as yet but a full discharge then 'resets' back to 100% display upon which the issue then starts again. posters there seem to think that this means its not an issue with the battery but none the less annoying. I also got my unit a few days ago but still boxed.
