  1. Hi All Thank you very much for all the suggestions and advice. After having 3 different installers look at the system, we decided to split the inverters and run them individually. Everything now works perfectly with the caveat being that my batteries and panels are now split. Nonetheless, I truly appreciate everyone's input and time.
  2. No. Ever since the parallel installation, the inverter sells to the grid and also draws from the grid when it should be drawing from the batteries. Batteries are never being used no matter what settings I change in Time of Use. The batteries are only used when there is no municipal power. Also, the system will not produce any PV if I don't tick "Solar Sell".
  3. Thanks,will do.
  4. Hi Thanks for this. The system is still: - Keeping batteries at 100% throughout the day and night. Drawing from grid when the house requires more than the solar being produced as opposed to covering the shortfall from the batteries.
  5. Yes, I've set the time of use on the inverter manually.
  6. Hi I've got an issue with my inverters not prioritizing battery and solar. Instead, the grid is being used even when I've set the time of use to draw solar and battery. The result being that my batteries are always at 100% and municipal power is being used even though there's ample battery power. This problem only started after I added an inverter to my original one. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
  7. Hi All On the journey to going off-grid, I'd like to get a generator that will automatically charge my Pylontech 4.8kwh batteries when they reach a certain %. Currently, my system is set to prioritise solar, then use batteries and when batteries fall to a specified % to use the grid. I'd like the inverter to use the generator to charge the batteries and only if the generator is inactive, to use the grid. Which generator brand is working for you? What size generator would I need? Should I look at an LPG gas-powered generator vs. a petrol or diesel? Anything else I need to consider?
  8. Thank you very much. I'll give this a try and let you know if I have any issues.
  9. Hi All I have an 8kw Deye Inverter. I'd like to set it such that during the day it should use solar to power the connected load and if solar isn't sufficient, it should switch over to the batteries. If the batteries fall to 50%, then only should the grid power be used. My reasons for this are that I live in a sunny part of KZN so most days are great for solar production and I need to cycle my batteries which are hardly getting used. Is is possible to set the inverter to work like this? If so, please share the settings/changes I need to make. Thank you
