zs1ssm got a reaction from PsyCLown in Inverter Neutral Earth bonding
Sorry to say --I did a test while system is drawing power from the grid and the voltage between N and E is 0v but if the inverter runs off batteries or just solar then 80v are present--so that tells me the inverter is not bonding the NE--Growatt SP5000ES 5KW

zs1ssm got a reaction from RuanLaubscher in Growatt SPF5000ES tripping earth
That is exactly how it is connected----Even with the feed from eskom disconnected it sometimes trips the EL---I did reset now and is running fine---Until the next trip ----Do I need to bond the Neutral and earth at the inverter ??

    zs1ssm got a reaction from Psy in MC4 Connectors-Danger
I was using the MC4 3 way connectors but only one connected--Leaving 2 male connectors exposed--After a month my inverter would give "ERROR 51" and shut down--The problem was traced to the MC4 connector that made a short on my Aluzink roof burning a hole as big as a 5c through the roof -Panels are earthed at the roof and a seperate earth spike was installed--And so I am learning something new every day
