While I was initially more interested in getting a basic set up in our house which could potentially be used later with solar panels, the property owner (my brother) now seems less than keen for us (and by us I mean me since I am happy to pay) to drop 75k+ on a solution. At the end of the day it is his house, so I can't really force the issue (although hopefully load shedding will get worse and he'll change his mind). That being said, assuming we have load shedding stage 2 for the foreseeable future, I would love to be able to keep my gaming PC online. We currently already have an Ultralan Micro UPS for our networking hardware (it's brand new so barely drops 1 bar during 2 hours of load shedding with 15% draw on it). I did some Googling and looked around several threads on MyBB and elsewhere, and it seems possible that I could keep my PC online during load shedding with something like this: https://www.geewiz.co.za/long-run-ups-inverter-battery/5373-mecer-2400va-inverter-2x-100ah-batteries-8-hour-battery-life-kit-1440w.html Here are the specs on my PC: Ryzen 5 3600 MSI Tomahawk B450 Mobo 16 gigs ram Radeon 5700 1 1TB SSD 1 1TB WD HD Dell 27" 1080p 60hz monitor Mecer 27" 2160p 144hz monitor Would this be a suitable solution for me, or should I look at something else? What would I be looking at in terms of recharge time with an inverter setup like the one above?
