Posted December 22, 20213 yr Dears, I have a Deye SUN-8K-SG01LP1-EU installed, and i know that we can connect both the generator and the grid power to the grid input in case we need to use the smart load feature. my question is there a way to let the inverter differentiate between the grid power and the generator power so each has its own settings (Maximum power, Battery charging etc...). As I know, to connect the generator to the grid input, we have to install al contactor with grid and generator input and one output to be connected to the inverter grid input. thank you

No, not if connected to the main AC input. Depending on the size of generator, you will have to manually change the battery charging current to what your generator can supply plus house load. Also you'll need to open the voltage and frequency settings on AC input or the inverter will connect / disconnect with generator fluctuations.
