I am looking at purchasing a 5kw Sunsynk inverter. I understand the maximum PV DC input is 6500w and each mppt can handle 13A (with fw update).

I wanted some clarity on how that 6500w is split per mppt. Could I run 8x470w on 1 mppt and 6x470w on another mppt? I am limited by roof size - but would like to install 14x470w in total - which is 6580w.

I know the total is above 6500w - but I believe this should be fine due to losses and it would just result in the power being clipped.

Can anyone assist in helping my understand above. I'm sure it's been answered - I just couldn't find anything definitive.

Just after posting... I found the below thread - which seems to answer things.

Some calculations showing that 8x470w even with 0 degree weather in Durban would be sufficient. Max voltage would be 470V at 0 degrees.
