March 7, 20224 yr This question is in reference to the ShineWIFI-S (firmware version 3.0.0.0) with the standard data update interval of 5 minutes (connected to a growatt hybrid inverter). Does anyone have any data as to how much data is stored locally, e.g. in the event of an internet disruption or the destination server (server.growatt.com) not being reachable? I'm assuming a TCP connection, rather than UDP, is made and as such data is acknowledged on the server before the data logger 'forgets' the data.
March 9, 20224 yr Hi Mike_C I think 1 month. Remove USB, for 24 hour. Then put it back and after 20-30 minutes you will see the backup has this data or no data. I'll try it tomorrow. I will write the result. Greetings Antal
April 11, 20224 yr That's pretty interesting, thanks. I guess it just accumulates until it can next reach the server and then sends a single message with the amount accumulated in that interval. It makes a certain amount of sense, to avoid having to send 288 packets per day in one shot, though a little disappointing. They could be smarter in how they store/display it, by distributing the value evenly over the time range. I had a couple of periods shortly after installation when it lost connection and I had thought it was losing the data completely.
