Hi Everyone,

Please bear in mind I know very little to nothing so I'm trying to understand whats the best option(s)

I work from home and Eskom is working on my nerves. So started just looking into a UPS for my fibre router en extender then someone who is very impressed with his system recommended I get the same.

He has (excuse if my spelling is not correct)

1x 24v 24va inverter

2x 12v 100amp batteries

Eg. If I can afford the above, is it overkill or a good setup?

In my 3 bedrooms I have 2 TV's(DSTV), 2 fans, Fibre router and cell phone chargers

StudyRoom - Laptop, Screen, Fan, Printer

TV Room - TV + DSTV

2 Fridges + cell phone Chargers

What can I use simultaneously on that setup or are their better options/ideas? Thanks for your help

Hopefully I have explained well enough.

The power used by fridges can vary a lot depending if new or old. The other items will run fine during loadshedding times but without solar charging you will run out of battery power if a 12 hour or more power outage. Some printers can also use up to 300W while printing.

It will help if more specific on the name and model of the inverter. Could be a 24V 2.4kw unit.

Do you have decoders or do you stream? OK... you must have one decoder since DSTV's clamp down on login sharing. Also what kind of printer and how often is it used?

Fan... well I'd do without that.

OK... you don't need to answer here, but try to get a handle on what your average and your maximum loads will be, then deal with a company that knows their onions about UPS rather than buy the bits at Builder's.

These systems usually have lead/acid batteries. Expect to change them every 3 years at the most.
