Is there any regulation preventing someone from feeding excess solar energy into the grid (running the municipal power meter in reverse)? I stay in North West.

    Yes, you are not allowed to feed back. Unless you register your system, get a bidirectional meter and approval you could face severe fines for feeding back into the grid. There is simply so much red tape that it is not worth the effort.

    You are better off sending the excess power to your geyser.
