Hi I have a client that has installed a 60kva generator He has 2 8 kWh Sunsynk inverters with 5 batteries. He has installed the generator at the main incoming line so when Eskom goes the generator kicks in and supplies AC to the main DB and we can see the AC light on both inverters and the AC voltage is correct however it will not charge the batteries can someone assist if possible Thanks

It's a massive genny so not sure why it is not working.

I struggled with a small 5kva but got it to work when I made the grid amps at 5amps, then slowly built it up so that the batteries could charge.

What may be happening is as the AC is detected it then wants to charge or even the AC pass througj to the inverter thus causing the genny to go under load and the frequency then dips below the parameters of the Inverters.

So on the inverter change the frequency range to there respective maximums and see if that helps. Also then try reduce the grid amps to a silly low number and see if that works.

Also as typing when the generator kicks in, make sure the loads from the inverter are off thus not putting the genny under huge strain on start up and then see if the batteries charge.

I had such such missions with it but I got it to work with setting the grid amps to 5 and the upping to 9amps. However the moment the fridge compressor kicked in it shot the hertz so shutting off charge.

Very valid point to keep the power from the genny low while getting it to work.

I think most of the problems people have is the Sunsynk/Deye has about 6 different settings that must be correct in order for a genny to work. Here are some great post listing the various settings. Too much blame goes the way of the inverter and genny when things do not work.
