March 11, 20197 yr Author 39 minutes ago, Goedman said: What do you suggest for filtration? don't get all worked up about filtration, some of the guys on the forum will tell you they grew up drinking water from plaas dams, >99% of our grandparents survived that water and 100% plus of our grand-grand parents - forget 1st flush unless your place has trees. i have the attached and it works like a bomb [tick, tick, tick boom 🤣] the drawing is the tank from the top, i cut a hole, place some stainless steel mesh over it and fasten it to the tank with steel/copper screws. just above it is the gutter outlet from the roof. as it is slanted bigger debris tend to be washed away and fall off. light can also now enter the tank facilitating some slime/algea growth which helps in the digestion of most bacteria unlike some people advocate that it is bad for you [they should see the inside of the municipal storage!]
