Best Goodwe 5046 ES Advance Settings

Featured Replies

Hi All.

My basic setting on my Goodwe:

- Grid Tied mode

 - Battery depth allowed to 20%

This gives me my best payback.

With stage 4 and 6 I set this 20% to 40% for stage 4 and 50% for stage 6 in order to handle 2 boats of load shedding after the sun has set.

Offcourse we do not always have a second session and then I start loosing payback.

So here is my question. Is it possible to tell the system to use the Grid to charge my battery back to 40% at night. I can then set the DOD lower, knowing that the system will top up the battery if needed ready for a second load shedding event at night?

The only way I'm aware of to charge your battery at a fixed time is to use Economical Mode. But that allows you to charge for X hours at Y rate of charge. It doesn't pay attention to SOC when it starts, and the only way it stops charging is
1) end time exceeded
2) SOC gets to 100%

I have mine set to charge from 15:00 to 16:00, because I am happy when my battery has 100% SOC at 16:00. When I have that, I'm good until at least 7.

But as regards your situation... If you had some sort of automation and could some coding, could something like this be done?

1) Switch to economical mode at the designated time?
2) Start monitoring SOC
3) Charge until SOC >= 40%
4) Switch back to general mode.

But see my note above. I have a 10kWh battery, and it's at 100% by 4pm, then I am relaxed. The battery will get through the night with something in hand.

OK, my circumstances are probably not the same as yours, but if you can cut back on the evening loads and do more stuff while the sun is in the sky, you batteries can go longer.
